Missing my A-team family a little extra today

Not even 2 ankle surgeries (including one 2 weeks before I came in) could keep me away from doing what I love with the people I love.

Thank you to everyone who supported me, cheered me on, and welcomed me back with open arms. You all and this activity are life changing and I’m forever grateful🫶

(I guess I should’ve done a “42 after 42,” but here we are😛)

The Academy 2026 - Thank you for the opportunity of a lifetime

Life truly has a funny way of working out in the end

Thank you to my euphs who welcomed me back for my 4th year as if I was part of this year’s family all along. You made me feel welcomed and supported immediately and continued to push me like you do every season. I’m truly thankful to be part of such an amazing section - Tbsid

Thank you to the trumpets for welcoming me into your family knowing I had no clue what I was doing. The support I felt from a group of people I don’t normally interact with was overwhelming and I couldn’t be more thankful. I never thought I’d get to know so many people from a different section as well as I did. - 番

Thank you to my family, staff, volunteers, and surgeon who helped support me in coming back much earlier than anticipated. You trusted me to get the job done even after a surgery that happened 2 weeks before. You all made a huge difference in my season and life.

After 2 ankle surgeries from a previous marching arts injury, I knew I wasn’t going to march this summer and had accepted it. I worked harder to recover and rehab so I could come back for my age-out, but I ended up being cleared much sooner after my second surgery in June than anyone thought. I saw there was an immediate trumpet opening and took the chance (and no I didn’t know how to play trumpet and I still don’t), sent an email, and got a contract.

I spent 3 days learning the entire show in a trumpet dot, then performed the first 3 shows in that dot. I wasn’t expecting to be in so early, but it worked out. After those 3 shows, we had a 3 rehearsal day schedule where I was switched back to euph and given a new dot to learn in 3 days. I then went on to perform in that dot the rest of the season.

Everything fell into place in a very short amount of time, but at the right time as well.

I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. Thank you Academy
