The stones painted by members of the Ballethnic Community to pay tribute to their ancestors. The Ballethnic Imani Memorial Garden was created to pay homage to our dear student Imani Twiggy Twine. This spiritual area is a place of solitude and communal gatherings. This is part of the Ballethnic Community Gardens and Grounds on Ballethnic Way!

Ballethnic celebrates and honors the addition of Stephanie Raines as Director of Arts DeKalb DeKalb Council for the Arts. From Athens Clark County to DeKalb County. Ballethnic cherishes our relationships, partnerships, and collaborations with both. Our history spans back to the early 1990’s with both from working with Ariel at Soapstone Center for the Arts and performing at South DeKalb Mall in DeKalb, to outreach with Joel and Lois at East Athens Educational Dance Center, collaborations with Joan at UGA where I was Artist in Residence and created the collaborative African Ballet Village Fables that connected the two organizations. And lastly to Ballethnic performing and teaching for the midnight citywide dance event for youth. Check us out March 27-29, 2026 at Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center.
