I was right out of college when I got a job at a new network they were calling “Chicken Noodle News”. We were all young, energetic & hopeful with a desire to change the world. And our fearless Captain, Ted Turner, lead the charge to “bring together in brotherhood and kindness, and friendship and in peace, the people of this nation and this world.” He did that and so much more. He gave us cutting edge technology, vision & set a new path for journalism worldwide. But most importantly, he gave us a family. There has never been, nor will there ever be a place like CNN for so many of us who grew up together. No words can adequately describe this incredible place that many of us will forever call home. We may have moved on our own separate ways, taking different paths, moved to different parts of the world, but we will always be connected and always be family. Thank you to @marylynnpurple for bringing together more than 500 people, past and present, to honor Ted & the house he built & let us share our laughter and tears together once more.
