It was a big weekend for HCOP in Salt Lake City!

Students and faculty showcased their meaningful work and brought home some hardware from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Annual Meeting!

🟠 Dr. Heather Whitley graduated from the Professional Development Leadership Program
🔵 Dr. Miranda Andrus was recognized for five years as Co-Director of the Professional Development Leadership Program
🟠 Retired Professor Dr. Lea Eiland was inducted as an ACCP Fellow
🔵 Dr. Ashley Hawthorne won the Global Health PRN Mentor Without Borders Award
🟠 P3 Asia Ward won the Global Health PRN Think Globally Award
🔵 P3 Addison Duet and P4 Rebecca McElroy received Ambulatory Care PRN Student Travel Awards

We're proud to announce another national accomplishment... URI College of Pharmacy is bringing home 2nd place nationally in the 2026 ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge! 🎉

This incredible achievement belongs to our P4 PharmD students Emma Brouillette, Kayla Aquilante, and James Berard-Moore, whose knowledge, leadership, clinical reasoning, and teamwork helped them earn a spot among the top teams in the country.

Competing at the national level takes dedication and a lot of preparation, as well as the ability to put years of learning into practice. These students have shown what that looks like, and we couldn’t be more proud of everything they’ve accomplished.

Help us congratulate Emma, Kayla, and James on this outstanding achievement!

We are proud to celebrate our student team for advancing to the Quarterfinals of the ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge, earning a spot among the top 8 pharmacy teams in the nation! 🇺🇸

Representing Touro College of Pharmacy at the ACCP Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah, our students showcased their clinical knowledge, teamwork, and dedication to the pharmacy profession.

👏 Congratulations to Joseymi Goris, Mavluda Naimova, and Frederick Dadzie on this outstanding achievement!

Our PGY2 Internal Medicine residents took on Salt Lake City for the 2026 ACCP Annual Meeting! 🏔️💊

🌟 Katelyn Carlson, PharmD presented two research posters and delivered a podium presentation for the Liver/GI/Nutrition PRN as part of her travel grant award!

🌟 Dessy Henkel, PharmD attended the conference to network, build professional connections, and cheer on her co-resident!

✨ A great weekend at ACCP! ✨

Rose and Madelynn (our leadership fellow/resident) had the opportunity to connect with clinical pharmacists from across the country, learn from leaders in the profession, and bring new ideas back to practice.

Rose, our 2nd year fellow, also presented her poster, “A Point-in-Time Assessment of Pharmacist Billing Practices and Payer Challenges in Minnesota,” highlighting findings from the Health Plan and Provider Workgroup’s survey on pharmacist billing practices, reimbursement challenges, and barriers to expanding pharmacist-provided services. 📊🩺

Grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and represent our residency program alongside colleagues who are passionate about advancing the profession. 💙

Wow grateful is an understatement 🥹 I truly feel so honored to have received the @accp @accpemedprn New Clinical Practioner Award 🫶

So many incredible people have received this award and I feel so honored I am following in the footsteps of those who have made such meaningful contributions to emergency medicine pharmacy before me.

When I first started sharing my journey online as an emergency medicine pharmacist, my hope was to educate, advocate for our profession, and help others recognize the impact of emergency medicine pharmacists. To have that passion recognized in this way is incredibly meaningful!!! 🫶 what a full circle moment!
