Day 2 of National FFA Convention: On Thursday, October 22nd, our FFA members had a packed day! They started off the day with some free time at the FFA Career Show and Shopping Mall, and then had some lunch in downtown Indianapolis. They then toured Traders Point Creamery and learned about their farming practices. After their tour, they went to the third session of the National FFA Convention and Expo, where we found out that our very own Emma Strickler placed 1st in the nation in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking CDE. This is the first national win in A-C FFA history. We are beyond proud of you Emma! After hearing Emma’s results, we attended the annual Buckeye Bash where our members played fun games, danced, and connected with other Ohio FFA members. This day was full of fun and excitement! 💙💛

On September 26th, our Forestry CDE team consisting of Coltyn Anderson, Olivia Chaffin, Reese Melton, and Justin Seymour traveled to Hocking College to compete in the State Forestry CDE. The team demonstrated an impressive level of knowledge, skill, and determination as they earned 3rd place out of 25 teams across the state of Ohio! This is an incredible accomplishment, and we truly couldn’t be more proud of these members for their dedication and preparation in this CDE. This makes for the first banner of the 2026-2027 CDE season! We are so proud of all of these members, great work! 💙💛

On September 22nd, four current officers from the A-C FFA Chapter traveled to the Ohio Statehouse for the Ohio Legislative Leadership Conference. Members participated in a simulation where they stepped into the roles of both lobbyists and legislators and debated the pros and cons of different House Bills. Our members also had the opportunity to explore around the Statehouse, visit with director of state policy for Ohio Farm Bureau, Evan Callicoat, hear from several amazing speakers during a luncheon, and visit with the State FFA Officers. This is an amazing event that is put on every year, and A-C FFA always comes back with amazing leadership roles and memories from it!
