Thank you to everyone who came up to Nathan‘s 40th birthday party or wanted to, but couldn’t. Took it back to @erika_ree4 house party🤫. It was too much fun reminiscing on old times. It’s crazy and truly special at the same time that we still hang out with all our friends from high school… a 20+ year bond. Happy birthday!! @nateg210

Chapter 40: Unlocked 💝

A little late posting but cut me some slack I'm getting old

Grateful doesn't even scratch the surface. My husband turned "just dinner" into a real celebration — Kirby's Steakhouse was fantastic, the crew was perfect, and somehow the night just kept getting better.

Special thanks to the people who made it happen:
@eduron84 @missjuliemarie - it's been too long. Thank you for the recommendation. Let's do it again soon.
Chloe-who knows my soul. Handwritten Stevie Nicks card? Iconic.
@anita_verga_ @acelevn 🐡 -cute gifts, cute couple, and cuter energy.
@davidggarza210 & @jasmine_rebelhair - we owned that dancefloor.
Brad kept the Roxbury party strong until the end

And to everyone who showed up to celebrate with me? This is what 40 looks like.

Here's to the next chapter.

Matthew,

Eighteen years ago, I looked into your eyes for the very first time.

I didn't know then what our journey would look like. I didn't know the laughter we would share, the lessons we would learn, the challenges we would face, or the memories we would make.

I only knew that I loved you.

I prayed for you before I ever held you.

I dreamed about you before I ever met you.

I planned for you long before I knew your face.

But no dream, no plan, and no prayer could have prepared me for how much joy you would bring into my life.

You have been one of my greatest blessings.

Not because of anything you've accomplished, but simply because you are you.

I've had the privilege of watching you grow from a little boy into a young man. Somewhere between scraped knees, bedtime stories, laughter, tears, milestones, and ordinary days, you became one of the greatest gifts God ever gave me.

There are pieces of my heart that exist in this world because of you.

In your smile, I still see glimpses of the little boy who used to reach for my hand.

In your eyes, I see the young man you're becoming.

And somewhere between those two versions of you is a lifetime of memories I will always treasure.

There are so many things I hope life gives you. Adventures worth taking. Friendships that feel like family. A love that feels like home. Purpose, joy, and reasons to laugh until your stomach hurts.

But more than anything, I hope you always remember this:

You never had to earn my love.

You never had to be perfect.

You were loved before you took your first breath.

You were wanted before you were ever held.

You were enough from the very beginning.

And if I had the chance to live this life all over again, I would choose being your mom every single time.

Happy 18th Birthday, son.

I love you more than all the words in the world could ever say.
