Adult Material is proud to present Intimate Elsewhere, opening next Thursday September 10 at 5 pm 🥂🍻

Intimate Elsewhere brings together the work of five emerging Southeast Asian artists, Lucas Tan, Mark Hernandez, Thom Nguyen, Theeratatt Tongbai and Achi, to consider queer intimacy as a paradoxical space of longing where desire, fantasy, memory, identity and place inhabit a gap between presence and absence, closeness and distance. The Intimate Elsewhere is a private and nostalgic world which is not simply somewhere we want to go but a place where part of the self already resides. Come explore 👀

We’re pleased to announce the first limited edition print release from Permanently Closed, featuring works by ACHI (@achi.area), Thom Nguyen (@brandnewyen), and Thanh Tường (@tuong3rd

Produced as museum-quality archival giclée prints on 310 GSM fine art paper, each edition is hand-signed and numbered by the artist, with editions limited to just 2–3 prints.

Thom Nguyen — Hướng Dương (Edition of 2)
Thanh Tường — Duyên (Edition of 2)

🌈 Pride Month has been a beautiful reminder of how far queer art in Vietnam has come — and how much further it can go.

We're proud to see LGBTQ+ artists and stories celebrated by leading cultural publications this month. Congratulations to ACHI, Thom Nguyen, Gia Huong Hoang, Thanh Tường, Dorian, Leandro Marcelino, Nguyễn Quốc Dũng, Lyon Nguyen, Vinh Huynh and all the artists contributing to these important conversations around identity, intimacy, community, and belonging.

Thank you to our partners, writers, curators, collectors, and audiences for helping create space for queer voices to thrive. 🏳️‍🌈
