Dish spotlight: Sesame Seaweed Salad.

Next time you come in, ask for our sesame seaweed salad. It may sit in the starters section, but with the cucumber, pickled daikon, yuzu, and sesame dressing, it’s one of those dishes you keep thinking about after the meal.

Omakase Box is our love letter to the industry.

We’re excited to call Logan Square home and even more excited to make this place a spot where people can grab a meal with friends, share a laugh over drinks, and of course, come in for their first omakase experience.

Our handrolls have become one of those menu items locals keep coming back for. Crispy unagi crunch, buttery negi hamachi, spicy scallop, ginger salmon… simple, yet so delicious.

Main Attraction: Omakase Box

“A symphony of sushi” is how I described the 15-course tasting tour de force to our chef at the end of our evening at the Box. He replied that that’s exactly what they’re aiming for. The fact their vision is the reality at Omakase Box comes as no surprise. The establishment’s laid back energy and confident demeanor deliver the message telepathically as soon as you walk in. Friendly conversation with the staff starts to flow right after you’re checked in and seated. Each bite is then prepared and presented with precise and perfect timing. The tastes ebb and flow between subtle and strong, traditional and unique, blending together at times to achieve a crescendo. The performance the ensemble has assembled at Omakase Box is captivating from start to finish.

In a city with an ever-growing selection of top omakases, the Box offers the quintessential Chicago version: world class in quality, appropriate in quantity, and accessible to anyone. Affordability is typically what people first cite when recommending a visit. However, it’s the overarching story their product and presentation tell that truly defines Omakase Box. Like many of the spots leading the incredible dining scene of our great city, the Box exceeds at constructing a transportive experience while remaining grounded. The result is an omakase rendition approachable to newcomers and sophisticated for purists. It’s a brilliant orchestra. Come hear it for yourself. Enjoy the show.
