Same sport, different font 🤾🏻‍♀️🏖️

1st USA Beach Handball Tournament is a wrap! Always grateful to rep the US. While this one challenged me mentally and emotionally I believe I came out of it better than before (and as a more versatile player!).
Long story short, I had prepared to play on offense, but due to unforeseen circumstances that were out of our control, I became a defender overnight (without any practice or in game experience at the position btw). But I held my own & relied on the skills from my previous sports to translate so it all worked out! (s/o @cuiwbb for prepping me in that aspect)
Regardless, I’m grateful for the opportunity to play this new sport at the highest possible level & gain experience that will only help me in the future.
Thanks to everyone for all the support & love during the trip & also to my parents for being the Team USA fanbase while we were out in Spain
This is just the beginning! 🇺🇸🤾🏻‍♀️

I don't even know where to start and who to thank first! My first tournament as the head coach for the USA Women's Beach Handball team is in the books and it is one that will live with me forever!

I want to give a shout to every player that sacrificed, trained, and fought to take this journey to Laredo, Spain for the IHF Global Tour. I can't say enough positive things about this group of women from their abilities and potential to their openess and flexibilty with the staff and our ultra-tight itinerary. Thank you all.

To my staff, both in Spain and around the world, I want to say thank you. The community and shared vision for growth and success in the present and future is something that I believe can unlock something special.

A special shoutout to @ackero for joining us along this adventure and dealing with me! You're wisdom and attitude was huge for everyone!

Also thank you to our medical guru Chris, who kept all of us moving and able to perform! We legit could not have done it without you.

To those players making their Team USA debuts, @maddy.cardenas @murlgibbs @mira.chew @katie_timmerman and @maricantg I am proud of all of your abilities to step up, especially when thrust into new or uncomfortable roles! It's clear to see the development you all already made in just a few days!

To those who have already had experience with the team, @katiannscherer @originleginger @lizashley @cedarbellows and @carolinneportugal your willingness to open up to the new players and staff was tremendous. Your communication and willingness to step up as leaders on and off the court is crucial to developing an effective program!

Thank you all for this journey,
Coach
