Long Range Thermal Optics

There are a variety of thermals that will get you pigs and coyotes out to 100-200 yards, and we’ve had several successful hunts with 384 sensors.

But long range thermal clip-ons have somewhat been inaccessible or largely cost-prohibitive until the MATE ULTRA came along from @nocpix_usa

While $6K might sound still inaccessible, the capabilities are numerous.

- on device recoil activated recording
- region of interest presets for info/menu
- color palettes and image settings
- large device storage
- compatible with a large variety of optic setups

Compared to a much larger night vision clip-on, you also don’t need onboard illumination to see targets assuming there is sufficient thermal contrast.

Even if you aren’t hunting pigs at 871 yards, the assurance you get with target detail at closer engagements alongside the wide field of view makes this device very capable across a broad spectrum of engagements.

If you’re looking to pick up thermals for a variety of purposes, both of us (SASS Concepts and @acme_armi ) are dealers.

For anything long range focused, contact SASS Concepts.

NOCPIX MATE ULTRA AT 1024 YARDS

Hitting an IPSC target at 1024 yards is a task capable by only a few clip-ons out there and the @nocpix_usa MATE ULTRA delivers.

Price for performance of this thermal clip on doesn’t get much better, not to mention its built-in 905nm NIR laser rangefinder and ballistic solver.

Contact us today for all your upcoming thermal needs! We at SASS Concepts and @acme_armi can get you anything you need for thermal optics.

The @nocpix_usa MATE ULTRA

We spent an entire day getting as excellent as footage as possible through the MATE ULTRA, and even 4K video footage can't do it justice of engaging out to over 1000 yards on IPSC steel targets.

To be clear, we've used $100,000 MWIR cooled units such as the INOD Block III, HISS HD, and HISS XLR.

The NocPix MATE ULTRA comes in at 6000, but that includes a 905nm (NIR) laser rangefinder built-in.

We have also used another thermal with a 640 sensor for comparison, but the image is far superior on the NocPix. We think the 3x magnification is exactly what the image looks on the NocPix but even up to 10, 12, even 15x with only some degradation.

The other 640 sensor tends to max out at 7/8x, with no reason to magnify higher.

If you are looking to pick one up, don't hesitate. We are also a dealer for NocPix/IRAY, so feel free to ask us any questions.

Thank you to @nocpix_usa and @acme_armi for letting us get footage on this device for the benefit of many who are curious and in the market for a high-quality, long-range capable clip-on.

M110 SASS

Still a system used by many groups and individuals, it lives on in armories across the United States.

It’s been adapted and modified to meet various requirements for large frame gassers, but the iconic M110 is recognizable even by its silhouette.

The story of SASS Concepts is pretty straightforward:

One step of faith after another. Not perfect, just consistent.

In between all these milestones are countless hours of conversations, encouragement, training, competitions, sponsoring, and supporting the advancement of long precision shooting.

It’s incredibly cool to be working in this space, and we’re doing our best to make the most of it for everyone we interact with.

RACS ON RACS ON RACS

The greatest travesty of the precision world was losing access to the Remington Defense RACS chassis systems. Every person you ask who used a 2010, an MSR/PSR, a CAG Surgeon, CSR, or M40A6, all say confidently that “it hammered.”

We have held and used various RACS systems and every single one inspires confidence.

MACV-SOG and US Light Infantry tactics and gear had a huge influence on modern warfare. We sat down with some remaining Vietnam vets going into this episode to see how their experiences with the tactics and gear can be relevant for preparing for modern conflict. Full video is live on YouTube.
Also, time travel. 😉
