Set against the rugged landscape of Kefalonia, @5elementsfiskardo draws inspiration from the island’s vernacular architecture, translating the timeless character of dry-stone walls into a contemporary retreat. A thoughtful interplay of stone, light and natural textures creates a quiet dialogue between architecture and its surroundings.

Γιατί δημιουργούμε;

There’s something special about this place. Three years later, it’s still one of my favourites.

F-topia Villas by @acre_architecture unfolds as a quiet architectural intervention in the northern landscape of Kefalonia, in the region of Erissos, within an area officially recognized for its exceptional natural beauty. Surrounded by dense Mediterranean vegetation and oriented towards Ithaca, the project engages deeply with the character and memory of the place.

F-topia, Matsoykata, Kefalonia, Greece, by Acre Architecture
BIG SEE Architecture Award 2026

F-topia in Kefalonia is a quiet architectural intervention centered around a preserved traditional threshing circle. Two summer houses are carefully positioned to protect and honor this historic element, linking past and present. The design embraces slow living through simple volumes, natural materials, and a strong connection to the landscape. The result is a calm, site-sensitive retreat rooted in memory and place.

A small summer house tucked into the hills of northern Kefalonia🌿

Designed for a family of four by @acre_architecture, the 60sqm residence draws from the village’s vernacular and reworks them through a contemporary lens. Inside, an open, flowing interior unfolds across two levels, while outside the materials are left to weather and soften, allowing the building to gradually merge with the landscape around it.
