I have hundreds upon hundreds, probably thousands of recipes saved on Insta and Pinterest, not to mention the hundreds of magazine clippings and a full library of cookbooks, but when I come across an easy and quite delectable recipe on IG, I immediately have to try it. Today was that day. I stumbled upon Krissy’s page this morning @acrosskrissystable and this Swedish apple crisp recipe and had to try it! It looks and smells amazing! Can’t wait until dessert!! 🍎🍏🥧

The first note to myself I scribbled down on @cheesegal’s proposal was that her mom is Darci with an i. If you know my mom, Judi with an i, I need not explain any further. The instant Cortney and I started chatting, we connected way beyond that little detail. Though she’d gone viral for her bougie snacks (Couch Caviar, sign me up) and cocktails (Mile High Martini, cheers), I knew she had so much more to share, and her Weak-Night Dinners and When to Wow meals proved that. Yes, this book has amazing recipes and yes, it has impeccable vibes, but it’s also laugh-out-loud funny. Imagine a country music star on a perpetual vacation to the Italian coast—like, fried chicken on a Ginori plate—and that’s Cort. Spending time with her and her wonderful family (Darci included) has been gratifying. Delivering the news (in person!) that after SO much hard work, she hit the New York Times bestseller list was such a joy. Congratulations—and thank you for trusting me—to this so-much-more-than-just-cheese gal 🍸📚🤠

If you are a cheese lover like me— I wrote about all of my favorite cheeses in this week’s substack! From creamy, birched wrapped cheese to ice wine washed blue!

The first pic is me @vontrappfarmstead right up the road from my house — producing some of the best cheese I’ve also included in the guide! 🧀🧀

Go to Vermont with your girlfriends. Eat all of the cheese, frolic in the fields, take a nap under a tree, and a dip in the icy water. When nighttime comes watch the Sound of Music in bed— with wine and dessert and lots of singing. Then, come home and squeeze your girl extra tight. You’ll be so, SO glad you did 💖
