@the_event_business created the perfect backdrop for #rangerover #defender #discovery & #jaguar to wow the crowds. #type00 looked out of this world and the reaction was epic. Your team were amazing, as always!

All whilst we also shot two days of JLR’s Solihull Team Improvement Circles with @thp_sauce and even had @teariz and @thesteadicamman in action at Goodwood on other duties!!!

What a team! We are so lucky!

A recent trip to Scotland to try the Land Rover Defender Octa.

Powerful SUVs that drive quickly on the road are easy to find, but this one has been designed to consume everything else you throw at it.

I’ve certainly never had to wear a helmet to go off-road in a Land Rover before, and I’ve also never been encouraged to do 70mph over rutted dirt tracks, either 😳

It feels like you’re driving with zero mechanical sympathy and while the suspension thumps and jostles you around in your seat, it’s all fine and calm again afterwards. It recalibrates your brain and makes you realise you couldn’t give a shit about potholes afterwards 😂

The 626bhp 4.4-litre BMW V8 has been nicely tuned as well - it doesn’t shove you hard into your seat but the strong flat torque curve means you can move along at a decent rate without having to work it hard. It doesn’t feel as lethargic at higher rpm as it does in some BMWs, either.

The sharpened up steering sorts out the initial dead zone you get in the regular version and while the off-road biased tyres don’t offer much in terms of outright grip, it’s quite playful once you reach the limits.

At £145k it’s vastly more expensive than say, a regular 110 D250, or something like a Ford Ranger Raptor that has a similar ethos, but it will have you laughing like no other Defender has any right to.
