Where do we belong? And what makes somewhere feel like home?

Following the sold-out Cornwall tour of SWIM, Liz Richardson returns with LOCAL - a deeply personal new solo performance about family, memory, place and belonging.

Moving between the rural Cumbrian landscape of Liz's childhood and her life with a young family today, LOCAL explores what it means to be ‘local’ whether you were born there or not, and how we find our own sense of belonging.

Funny, tender and honest, this is a story about the places that shape us, the people we carry with us, and the things we sometimes have to let go.

📅 Wednesday 14 October · 7.30pm
📍 AMATA Arts Centre, Penryn
🎟️ Tickets: £14 Full/£12 Concession/£10 Falmouth & Exeter Students

✨ Made in Falmouth ✨ Meet BA(Hons) Acting graduate @beckwtts who is currently part of @miracletheatre, Cornwall’s longest-established professional theatre company, for their latest production of Peer Gynt. 🎭

Beck shares more about how Falmouth prepared her: “I think that I’ve definitely come away from Falmouth Uni with this creative practice that is mine, and it’s backed up by all these amazing practitioners and my lecturers and all the support I got. So, I come into this industry quite confident, I think, that I have a practice and a toolkit that I understand and that I can use in my own way.” Watch the full video and learn more about Beck at the link in our bio.

Officially a Graduate 2026 of Falmouth University!!!!

It is hard to put into words how time has flown by. This date. 22/9/25 I started final year. 22/9/26 a year later am a graduate of @acting.amata. 3 years gone. How did that happen? I still remember that first day of walking into AMATA. Knowing hardly anyone. Not expecting what was to come. I am incredibly grateful for all the friends, connections and people I have met and come lifelong friends with. It’s become like a family. No matter where you are your still within my heart.

Yes it was a degree. But it was more than that. The community I had, the friends I made, and the life I made out of this was more than I could have asked for. I am humbly blessed to have been a part of their lives with a great bunch of people I have ever worked with. It has been an absolute privilege growing with you over 3 years. Thanks for putting up with me when things were tough. I do mean that. I couldn’t tag everyone though.

MISS YOU ALL. Go on to do great things. Please…

“Life is different for everyone, I think it’s about simple things done well with the right people, at the right time in the right place with the ones that care for you and you for them”

~JP.
