“The only person I have to convince that I am the role... is me.”

That one sentence changes the entire audition.

Because the moment you stop performing for approval… you can start telling the truth.

This is just one of the conversations happening inside the BASH Vault.

The vault includes 80+ hours of masterclasses from casting directors, agents, coaches, filmmakers, and other people who actually work in the industry and know what they’re talking about.

If you are a VIP, you have access to everything until September 30.

Comment VAULT and we’ll send you the details.

In 2019 God tried to show me that my voice would make a way for me. I was (what felt like) randomly cast as “The Cowardly Lion” in a production of “The Wiz”. I recieved so much praise and was even given verbal confirmation that my voice was meant to be my career.

(An affirmation the hurt child in me didn’t know how deeply he needed)

I missed the signs because I (the adult in me) was scared.

I built such a strong presence in marketing and communications with my visual work, I couldn’t fathom switching up especially with a pre-teen daughter and my son on the way!

I ran and chose a life that I thought felt more Hakunah Matata…

And it was, in theory. I had a family I prioritized, a couple jobs I didn’t like but kept bills paid, and enough to survive and occasionally give to others. Even an active and positive force in my community!

But then things inside me grew restless. Something was missing. And no matter how hard I tried, I suddenly couldn’t hold on to joy.

In September 2025 a voice said, “Are you ready to take my hand again?”

I cried out “YES!”

Still scared, even more so because I started losing the very things I clung on to that I thought were bringing protection.

But in every moment, God reminded me that my biggest issue is the fear of being myself.

The Cowardly Lion is still a Lion.

Just in his own way. And he can do amazing things when he stops comparing his worth to everyone else.

So, here I am, walking in God’s purpose for me, in a time that doesn’t seem like the best AT ALL.

But I’m moving forward with faith. For my family, for my loved ones, for generations young and old, for myself.

But most importantly,

For God.

Thank you @mandyofish and @actingbusinessbootcamp for your excellent teaching and helping reaffirm my walk. The spirit animal script was more timely than you could ever know and your encouragement and notes are a reminder that this is my path.

For those watching, thank YOU if you saw this video and read this far. I hope this inspires you to walk your God-given path and we can chat it up some time to stay encouraged.

And if you’re still scared like I was (and still am sometimes)
