🚨 It's the last day to get your votes in for this month's Indie List Chart!

Hit the link in our bio to cast your votes - you can vote for more than one song at a time, because it's pretty damn hard to decide between these tracks. We'll post the chart on October 25th, with a spotlight on whichever artist takes # 1!

And as always, the top 20 will be added to our Indie List playlist.

JUST ANNOUNCED => Space Tracer / Actor / Gold Tongue / Wonky Rat at Phog Nov 21st / $10 / 7:30pm doors

Hamilton’s Actor return with The Best Of, an album that trades the pastoral Americana of their previous releases for a set of crunchy, feedback-laden epics indebted to genre demarcations as varied as 1990s alternative rock, power pop, and contemporary alt-country. Earworm riffs delivered by careening guitars and impassioned, full-throated vocals hooks augment deceptively thorny arrangements and heartfelt lyricism; the album sounds like the band in a room, but glued together and rendered in glassy clarity by an expertly high-fidelity production. Though a sophomore album on paper, it feels like a group starting fresh, arriving reinvented but fully-formed with a stellar collection of material poised to propel them to greater heights.

The Best Of by @actorisaband is out today via @imstillhavingfun.

Lots of love to @blockheadclark and @sean.smittt for sticking with and believing in the project when we weren't sure if we had another member change in us. Thank you @roto_tom87 for getting on board!

Thank you @petervhmusic for your ears, encouragement and mixing skills (and inspo, as always).

Thank you @laurakaykeeling for your photos, ears & encouragement (& walking the dogs when I'm gigging).

Thank you @snellular5 for producing this with us and @boxcarsound for recording it.

Thank you @imstillhavingfun @wearebusybodies for believing in the record & our band. It means the world!!

I understand that I am incredibly privileged to be able to play music, but sometimes putting your heart and soul into something isn't an easy go, so having support from friends, family and fans goes a long way. Thanks to anyone & everyone whose been there along this journey.

This one's for my buddy Dyl.

We interrupt your usual village tour content to inform you that we'll be doing a little southern Ontario run in 2 weeks. We'll be playing Niagara at Camp Cataract and Hamilton at Andthenyou, October 2nd and 4th with some super exciting lineups. See you down there!

A reminder that we have a few events coming up this week in Toronto.

On Thursday afternoon, skip work with us for a day party as part of Second Summer Festival featuring Prism Shores, Actor, and Slough (debut show, members of Softcult). The show is FREE and takes place from 3-6pm at Collective Arts. Stick around for the evening show where we have pale blue eyes in from the UK, and Prism Shores doing double duty. The always excellent Elephant Stone are also on the bill.

On Saturday, get pummeled into submission with us at Picastro’s record release at Gloves Up Boxing Gym and hear Liz Hysen’s Sonny Liston inspired album in a boxing ring.

Also, catch pale blue eyes in Hamilton with Actor on Friday for the latter’s record release.

Catch me moderating a panel at Second Summer’s conference on Friday at ArtHaus.

Catch.
