Some BTS from the film!

One of my favourite aspects about filmmaking is how collaborative of an artform it is, and I was so inspired by the love that I got from everyone involved in it. It was an eleven page script that we shot over 3 days, yet there were more than 50 people who came together to make this possible, and I couldn’t have done it without each of them.

To my cast and crew, I am eternally grateful to you all for showing up and giving me your yes, all while asking for so little in return. I’m still overwhelmed by the support and encouragement you showed me, your passion for making movies, and your dedication to helping out a local artist.

A special thank you goes to my lead actor @actorjunedare who was in every scene and on every set with me, whether it’s 11 in the morning or past midnight. You brought so much magic and care to the character and the film and I’m so grateful for having you on the project.

Another special thank you for my producer and real life superhero @tinaricoxo for saving me from losing my mind on this project. Your work ethic, resourcefulness and compassion were the driving force behind preproduction and I can’t thank you enough for being by my side on this journey.

My ultimate thanks goes to the God I serve for seeing me through this project when I felt myself running low. For being my strength, my protector, my guiding light, and my comforter. He who began a good work in me was really faithful to complete it.

Those Who Can’t Do coming soon 🤪🤪

🙌🏼 Showing up! That is what this weekend was about. The Southeast Actor Summit @getscenestudios was exactly what I needed in this moment.

🙏🏻 Thank you to @jessemalinowski and the Get Scene crew for putting together this event.

🎉 Thank you Amanda Lenker Doyle for the reminder that it's not up to me to decide if I'm right for a role. Show up, do the audition, show casting, producers, and all what you can do.

So grateful for friends who want to go see some monks about some peace. 💕

Two different days, two different crowds. But the message was the same:

🧘🏻‍♀️Practice mindfulness. With it comes peace, love, and compassion.

🌎 What you put out in the world shapes the world. Who doesn't want more peace, more love, and more compassion.

What a great way to spend Dr Martin Luther King Day.

🗽When a friend says, "wanna come celebrate my birthday in NYC?" There is only one answer. YES!

🗽 I saw a lady about some liberty.
🗽 I saw people lining up to grab a bull by the horns and balls! 🤦🏽‍♀️
🗽 Most importantly, I had three days of good food, good fun, and great time with friends.

When you travel with an actor (one who has a virtual callback the next day) and you say, "I have room in my car," be ready for anything to be brought.

Me must tell our stories to each other. We must always listen. Otherwise we are doomed. I still have optimism. Do you? Photo credit @lolascottart #yourstorymatters #inmyshoesstories #community #listening #compassion

Courage Quest Day 45: Behind the Scenes @ In My Shoes ✨

It was a completely sold out crowd last night 🎟🙌 — the place was packed, we even had to bring in extra seating! The night was nothing short of magical. Thank you to everyone who came out, because stories are never just about who tells them… they’re about who they land on, who’s receiving them. 💫

Created by the amazing Cathy Reinking (Creative Director - @cathycasting) In My Shoes brought together an unforgettable lineup of performers:
June Dare • Anna East • Gbeke Fawehinmi • Peter Garruba • Renard Hite • Ed Jarot • Jami Johnson • Mark Kendall • Adam LaBorde • MC Lamport • Adam LeBow • Maiquel • Darcy Pierce • Cynthia Mann Rodriguez • Niki Sterner • Danielle Tarmey • Katelyn Draper

Special shoutout to Inga & Evija, sharing their stunning upcycled bags, purses, and wallets ♻️👜.

Excited to see the photos that the incredible @lolascottart took last night! 📸

💔 Our thoughts and prayers are with Albert B. Taylor, who was unable to perform while undergoing chemotherapy. Albert, we are with you. 💙

What a night — full of courage, vulnerability, connection, and community.
