Beni hitched a ride on Santa’s sleigh to surprise some very special little people on Christmas morning! We are thrilled to congratulate the new owners of Diablo Bunny, aka Beni, aka Bennifer Lopez! He’s accomplished a lot in the last year, moving up to the division, qualifying and participating at USEF Pony Finals 2025 and qualifying again for 2026 in the regulars. But Beni’s greatest achievement to date is something all great ponies aspire to, becoming a Christmas pony! Big thank you to the Snyder family for their trust and support, to Brin Gammill for believing in Beni and putting in the hard work to develop him into a real division pony and last but not least, thank you to Marion and Ada for making this Christmas wish come true!

Summit Z: June 17th 2003–June 19th 2024
Today is ten years since I said hello to my favorite friend. I didn’t think our goodbyes would be so soon. He was the greatest thing I’ve ever lost, and I’m not ready to see him go.

I haven’t been able to stop looking at pictures of him, and this is one of my favorite memories. I had been away at school and was so scared to go in that big ring after barely riding for two months. I don’t know another horse who could carry me around like he did. He even got us a ribbon at indoors that day. I’ll never forget that weekend shared with such wonderful friends. (The second video is from a few weeks ago when I found out how uncomfortable it is to ride Summit bareback)

Thank you Ada for loving him as much as I did. I wouldn’t even know Summit if you hadn’t taken a plane, rental car, and ferry a week before your daughter’s wedding just to look at him with us. You’ve given me the greatest gift, and none of this would have happened without you. I am forever grateful for you and everyone at Walnut Knoll, you are all family to me. Thank you Meg for giving him his last hoorah in the show ring. You were so wonderful and kind to him, and seeing the two of you go around in the Grand Arena at WEC is a memory I’ll cherish forever. I’m so glad to know you because of him.

Oh my big beautiful Summit.. I’ll miss you too much. He has a piece of my heart, and I hope it’s at rest with him. He made me so happy.
