A turn around of the season
The Cart to Cart 19 miler

What a day this was!! Coming off of two hard races, I was really hoping for this one to be the one that turned around my season and it was. Super stoked to have come off with a 6th place finish in 3 hrs and 8 minutes!

Both my body and my mind have finally clicked back into gear after several weeks of lack luster running and I can officially put the summer injury behind me.

Now it’s officially time to roll for the rest of the season.

I often tell people,

Being half Japanese staying in Japan at least month plus every year since I was 0 years old,

That I find myself as a cultural bridge.

Having the empathy to understand both sides,

The struggles and joys of the tourist and the local,

Maybe I was put on this earth,

To bring people together,

To create connections and be a positive impact,

To spread joy and love, no matter your background.

Mountain Nomad focuses on these values.

My trips to Japan are a reflection of myself,

Which is why I put the upmost care into everything.

7th year of doing this race

I’ve done this sport for a while and have done this race multiple times, and it does not get easier. Yesterday proved that. Body was not in it yesterday, the legs and stomach were fighting me while I was trying to fight the mountain.

Even with that being the case, I have had a lot of time to think about this race. It was not actually a bad day, but a good for you day. I have not had a really hard effort like this in quite the long time, so yesterday’s performance was what I needed. I was able to run for the majority even with my quads feeling like they shut down in the early portions of the race,nor did it feel like the race dragged on longer than it should have. I can thank my mental strength for that.

Not the day that I hoped for, but the day I needed and a day I can be proud of.

All eyes are on the next race
Pikes Peak Ascent.
