Mascarade avec sa tante qui la déteste et qui l’élève depuis la disparition de ses parents et son nouveau compagnon qui est lui est très sympa avec elle 🛳️
Je n’ai pas pu accepter cela façon dont parle sa tante enfin surtout envers Dilly qui est adorable mais c’est un détail 🤭

J’ai adoré ses aventures ! Parce que pour de l’aventure il y en a plein ! Et ça s’enchaîne ! C’est vraiment bien écrit et tous ces détectives qui débarquent pour enquêter, ils sont tous drôles 🤩

Qui peut bien être l’auteur de toutes ces disparitions ? Et bien vous serez sûrement autant étonné que moi 🤔

Have you checked out the Murray & Bun series if your child is moving onto first chapter books? If not, it’s a must-have series for me. My 7yr old absolutely loves it & it’s always difficult to stop reading before bed as there’s always lots of laughs & plenty of illustrations too. 5 in the series so far & Murray the Explorer was our favourite so far - Indiana Jones-sque with a cheeky baddie out to fool Murray and Bun 😦 @adam.stower @harpercollinsch

Everyone loves an autumn book reel and autumn is my favourite season for children’s picture books! The whimsical illustrations, warm colour pallets and heartwarming, funny and meaningful stories are all so beautiful. Some of these are old favourites, others are new ones that we’ve added to our collection this year. One thing they all have in common is that we love to read them again and again. Something a little different on the grid this morning.

Little Acorn: A Long Way Down is a lovely story which encourages Littles to have the courage to step into the unknown - whether that’s starting school, going to a new club, or even just finding new friends at the park.

Beautifully illustrated and funny throughout; it’s the perfect picture book to pick when reassurance is required.

We've loved being part of BookTrust's Bookbuzz initiative, where KS2 pupils get to select and keep a book for free from a list of 16 titles. It's been lovely hearing them enthusiastically discussing their choices with their friends and seeing some of them get really excited about having a book of their own for the first time.

Have you ever wished you could introduce two characters from different books? We’re big fans of both these kid lit series and would love to introduce fox cub Ted to Murray the cat. We’re sure they’d become firm friends. 🦊 🐱 💛

If you have small humans in your life and they haven’t yet discovered the joys of Grimwood or Murray and Bun this is your cue to rectify the situation immediately. You don’t even need the kids as an excuse, just do it for giggles and a warm feeling inside. No reading slumps here!

Troll and Oliver by @adam.stower published by @templarbooks

Every day after school the Troll tries to eat Oliver, as the Troll’s diet consists of mainly Olivers. The problem is, Olivers are quite hard to catch and also a bit obnoxious. After several months of trying and failing the Troll eventually gives up. So excited by the prospect of winning and never having to escape the Troll again Oliver goes home and bakes a cake, but has the Troll really given up?

This is another one of the stories we read during our recent visit to @discover_story My Little Bookworm loved how Oliver outwitted the Troll on a daily basis and how cheek he was. I felt quite sorry for the Troll. The story has a fabulous twist about half way through that I did not see coming and absolutely loved. The ending was great and not at all what I expected from the start of the book. The illustration are great and I’d really love a cuddly Troll for our bedroom.

MURRAY AND BUN:
Stolen rubies! Secret identities! New friends! I loved that Murray was all Indiana Jones in this. The illustrations are just gorgeous! There’s a real cute, fun, witty factor about these books. My Year 6s love these and I will for sure be buying more for the school library!
