DISNEY|BOBBYKIM.01.CLASSICS.TDS I’m writing this at 2am post drop. Sitting in bed, lights off, typing in this little IG caption box. But the overwhelming love for the collection got me inspired to pen another long IG caption. A very rare site in recent times. Knowing how late it is this may get deep…and with this stream of consciousness flowing, I’m likely going to post this when I wake up...or not, let’s see. First and foremost, big love to this crew. Grateful to play a part in a truly momentous moment. The team brought a newfound energy to The Disney Store with deep love and appreciation to the collector community and graphic tees. Truly an honor. My first love of clothing started with t-shirts. I fell deep down the rabbit hole being on Hypebeast Forums, reading Bobby’s blog, and peeping all the fit battles on Facebook groups. As a teenager, the t-shirt was the ultimate culmination, it told a story and most importantly it was the affordable item - shout out The Hundreds for those Final Friday sales. IYKYK. I’ve always been a collector of many things, especially items that were highly influential to my younger self and hold sentimental value. This era of brands and graphic tees is the embodiment of why I collect…or as others may say hoard. This era became the thesis of my college essay and served as the north star of what I wanted to do. I would study drops, lookbooks, seeding, the value of branding, holding graphics sacred, finding the “1+1=3” with collabs, and so much more. It opened my eyes to a playbook whose DNA is infused in all my work and laid the foundation for my love of fusing product and brand. And with that I’ve kept every tee I purchased since 2008, the first shirt being from The Hundreds (peep the last slide). Working to help launch the first Disney | Bobby Kim collection is very full circle. Appreciate the team for letting me into their world. To more stories and more Ws 🥂 Alright, now it’s the next morning, going to let this post rip. Hopefully whatever I wrote in my dream state is coherent 🤙
