10 years ago, I hugged my family and best friends goodbye, packed everything I owned, and drove away from Pennsylvania with the help of my dad and cousin Niki, with no idea what the next chapter would look like.

Leaving home was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss it. No matter where life takes me, a part of my heart will always belong in Pennsylvania. But deep down, I knew I had to spread my wings and trust that God had a bigger plan for me.

I moved in with my best friend Meghan, and together we made memories I’ll cherish forever. Somewhere along the way, strangers became lifelong friends, I earned two degrees, fell in love, got engaged, and married my best friend. I experienced one of the hardest heartbreaks of losing my sweet pup Cali, but my heart grew again when two more furry best friends came into my life.

When I look back, I’m so proud of the girl who was so young to leave everything she had ever known. She had no idea how much she would grow, how many incredible people she’d meet, or how beautiful life could become.

Sometimes the biggest blessings begin with the hardest goodbyes.

Here’s to 10 years of growth, love, loss, laughter, and becoming exactly who I was meant to be. And while I’ll probably always be a little homesick, I’ll never regret taking that leap. ❤️
