POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

y’all definitely know headband andy if you’ve been tapped in with the underground for a few years man shoutout goes out 😭💛

the san diego rapper has been around for some time now with hits like “vito / bad boy” which went crazyyy viral. fans starting making comparisons of his sound to playboi carti’s due to the similar ad-libs, thundering beats, and echoing melodies. he would even ragebait die-hard carti fans who were upset that he sounded so much like him. i wanted to spotlight him now though because the evolution he’s had since then has been wild

on his latest album release, “pass me a headband!” one song especially caught my ear… “bangmychest!” was such a departure from what i was used to hearing from andy, but not in a bad way. the carribean type bounce in the production really made me feel like he was almost going for a reggaeton vibe. it’s not often that you see a plugg rapper all of a sudden make such a drastic switch, but it was more of an experimental piece as we will see with his more recent songs

the one thing i would love to see more of from andy is some extended cuts because this song is so infectious. his february drop, “424,” is a lot more laid back compared to his other tracks. it’s the perfect song for any short form content or tiktok

a couple of days ago andy performed a freestyle on “on the radar” entitled, “andy’s home.” in my opinion, this was one of his best lyrical performances and showed me that his pen is really evolving to a whole new level. bars like, “damar hamlin, i’m in the field ‘till my last breather,” are lowkey out of pocket but these are bars i haven’t heard from him really before

shoutout andy man dude’s been around for a minute and it’s always been love when we’ve spoken so i had to give him a shout. what do y’all think? have y’all tapped in with andy before and thoughts on the previous comparisons we’ve seen from him to artists like carti and how he’s evolved his sound since? lmk below <3
