Taking Stock of an Inspiring Week at FNCE 2025!

Grateful for the opportunity to attend the Food & Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE) in Nashville, Tennessee, hosted by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (eatright.org). It was an incredible week of learning, networking, and celebrating the power of food and science!

From engaging academic sessions on cutting-edge nutrition research to connecting with passionate colleagues and mentors shaping the future of dietetics , every moment reaffirmed my commitment to advancing women’s health, metabolic wellness, and personalized nutrition.

Being my first time, I had the opportunity to learn and re-learn current evidence-based nutrition practices, professionalism and owning my space.

My key takeaways were from the women’s health (PCOS & Menopause) , maternal health, Culinary medicine, nutrition communication, the use of Artificial Intelligence in nutrition education , great insights from amazing speaker @jessicashepherdmd @valerieagyeman @ellie_krieger @dietitiansherry @heathereatswell @vandanasheth @bravoandy and amazing colleagues @culinarymedicine.rdn @eatwellexchange @yourhairnutritionist @resetlifestyle @nutrids @adauretherdn @dietitian_makani @juliankabell

And the Icing on the cake was the closing ceremony with Andy Cohen, speaking on communication , branding and Authenticity, the key takeaway was Be yourself .
@eatright_pro
And of course, Nashville added its own flavor of fun, music, and southern hospitality! 🎶💃🏽

Here’s to bringing the inspiration and insights back home and continuing to make evidence-based nutrition accessible and impactful!

My first #FNCE — and honestly, this experience has officially joined the short list of moments that changed my brain chemistry.
.
For a while, I’ve been in my own little bubble as a dietitian, especially one building a business. And if I’m being real, I haven’t always felt connected to the dietetic community — it didn’t always represent me or where I come from.
.
But stepping outside my comfort zone to attend FNCE and room with girls I’d never met in person (shoutout to being IRL 🙌🏾) was something I didn’t know I needed. It reminded me that sometimes we accept the status quo, forgetting we can create or find the community we’ve always wanted.
.
I left feeling inspired, encouraged, and seen — and yes, I even learned a few line dances from a fellow dietitian 😂🖤 @yourhairnutritionist

@africon.global was a TIME! 🙌🏿

I enjoyed speaking about the future of work in relation to AI and how we, as employees and business owners, can best position ourselves in the “AI Era.”

A lot of knowledge and value was shared. Many gems 💎 were dropped.

One of the main takeaways from the panel was this: whether you’re a business owner or an employee, always ask yourself, “How do I use AI technology to deliver a better and faster product or service?”

I have so much more I’d love to share on the topic, and I’ll be posting my candid thoughts in future posts.

Shoutout to the entire @africon.global team and volunteers for an epic weekend full of education, laughs, and community.

And a special shoutout to my coach and videographer @tkomolafeofficial for holding it down. We appreciate you, champ!

Cheers 🥂
