🇩🇴 More than 700,000 Dominicans call New York City home — roughly 1 out of every 12 New Yorkers. Dominicans are also one of the city’s largest specific ethnic-origin communities.

But that presence isn’t reflected equally in medicine.

According to AAMC data from 2015–2019, Dominicans represented just 2.4% of Hispanic/Latino students entering U.S. MD medical schools.

That gap matters.

Representation means more than seeing someone who looks like you in a white coat. It means building pathways into medicine, strengthening trust with the communities we serve, and making sure the people shaping our cities also have a voice in shaping their healthcare.

We need Dominican doctors, scientists, surgeons, researchers, and healthcare leaders. 🇩🇴🩺

Klk! Your barber WAS your surgeon 🇩🇴💈🔪
TAG YOUR BARBER 👇🏾 if he could’ve been a cirujano

Eran el mismo tiguere back in the day — fade, tooth pull, surgery, todo en la misma silla.

Mira la navaja vs my scalpel... same blade energy 👀

Barrio to OR, cuidando a nuestra gente.
