Being an athlete and a coach is hard. The reason not everybody chases a lifestyle like this is for that exact reason. It's not easy to get out of bed everyday and make the hard choices.

And those problems compound when you already struggle personally. I've been fairly open about this, so some of you may know already, but I've had mental health difficulties for as long as I can remember.

There have been a lot of days since I started chasing this dream that I haven't left my bed. Times all I've wanted to do is quit. For over 6 months, I was lucky if I trained once a week. I ate like shit, I felt like shit, I made shit choices.

It took me a long time to learn that talking about mental health or having mental health problems doesn't make you weak. It's hard to open up about things that effect you on such a personal level, and finding the strength to do that is incredibly admirable imo. I couldn't recommend enough confiding in your coaches, your friends and your family. There isn't as much stigma as you think, and when you find people who genuinely care about your well-being and your goals, their support is almost always invaluable.

My DMs are always open if anyone wants to talk 🙏
