Last month, I joined the @jessijeanhome Yap Challenge hoping to find clarity around a message I’ve been trying to articulate for years: I deeply believe our dreams are given to us for a reason, and they deserve to be taken seriously. But I also know how lonely going after a dream can feel, especially when the path you’re choosing doesn’t necessarily follow the societal norm. I’ve always believed there are far more people carrying dreams than we realize. We just don’t always have spaces where we feel comfortable talking about them, where we can say them out loud, talk honestly about where we are in the process, and receive the encouragement, perspective or support we need to keep going. Then one of the Yap Challenge assignments was to create an event you wish existed. So I created the Dreamer’s Dinner Club. What started as one assignment turned into a room full of people talking openly about their dreams, their obstacles and what they’re excited to build. 🥹 Last night was the first one, and it was incredibly special. I’m so grateful to @jessijeanhome and the Yap Challenge for giving me the push to create the kind of space I’ve wished existed for years. An extra special shoutout to my mom and sister for helping me bring the vision of the night to life 🤩🍊 And to the women who showed up with open hearts and took a chance on this dinner. Here’s to seeing where it goes from here. 🧡✨ #jjyapchallenge #orlandoevents #dreamersdinnerclub #thingstodoinorlando
