A note from Nicola (aka The Madre), on Night Time Cherry…🍒🌕

“Finding it difficult to switch off in the evenings, I wanted a drink I could look forward to that would be a part of a relaxing ritual, something that isn’t a glass of wine but still had that indulgent quality.

So I concocted a slower version of Remedio. Something softer, deeper and made specifically for the evening. Initially, I made it just for myself. Now I’m very happy to share it with you.

Sour-sweet tart cherry, passionflower and chamomile, blended with botanical herbs and our signature fermented lemon and ginger. A natural source of Vitamin C and antioxidants.

The result is warming, soothing and gently tart – a little like a hot water bottle for your nervous system.”

The best moments this month didn’t happen behind a desk.

The Cove was packed with photoshoots, the studios were full of people making great work, Hungry Hump Day turned lunch into a build-your-own burrito feast, and Sip & Spin brought vinyls, wine tasting and a whole lot of good conversation to the Atrium.

A building full of creative people, unexpected collaborations and the kind of community that makes you want to stick around after you’ve packed your laptop away.

It’s been a while since I was last shortlisted for a Tales award, and now two come along at once!

The podcast is defined by its guests — this nomination belongs equally to the 80 or so people who’ve sat opposite me so far.

The book has my name on it, but it’s the work of a dedicated and talented team. I basically just drank a lot of mezcal and strung words together in a vaguely coherent manner.

Looking forward to celebrating with the other nominees in NOLA next month.

THE LAST SERVICE - Part 1
This time last week we hosted our final service at Hacha Dalston - what an incredible day!

Friends, family, regulars and Hacha team members from years gone by all came along to celebrate and it couldn’t have been more perfect ❤️ a place that has meant so much to us for such a long time - it was a wonderful way to end our time there, in a room filled with such love and joy. Thank you to all who came and raised a glass with us, we love you. Hasta luego amigos ❤️

Night before last, we won the @fortnums Drink Book of the Year for Agave Safari. Won’t go on about it but I do have people to thank. First to @rylandpetersandsmall and especially @juliachanegroni for placing trust in me 10 books ago. To editor extraordinaire @nathancjoyce for sanding down the rough edges and cheerleading. Of course @addiechinn for capturing the moments and representing the words so exquisitely. But the biggest thanks goes to @better_call_pancho in Mexico—the man who orchestrated every mad moment of the 3000 mile road trip that became this book. Looking forward to sharing a few drinks with him in Mexico in just over a week.

Thanks to Fortnum & Mason for putting on a lovely do. To the judging panel for consideration, and a nod also for the other authors and writers in the drinks categories - @braciatrix, @zaramadrusan, @michaelmadrusan @sunnyhodgewine @millie_milliken @tomgilbeywine @joeldram @kristianewestray @irahmanjones - as well as all the other nominated and winning writers and creators from the night.

I’m still a little hungover…
