Magical, miraculous day in Iceland! Seeing the Aurora Borealis has been top of my travel list forever, and Wow, did it turn out tonight! We've also been looking forward to Diamond Beach with the Crystal Icebergs on the Black Sand as well as the waterfall spilling over ancient Basalt rocks. I'm so grateful for this magical day.

Within the span of a year there is now a new country, university, and community of friends which forever hold a piece of my heart!

I cherish the experiences and memories I gained during my time in Edinburgh. I earned a Masters of Science in Human Osteoarchaeology during my time at @edinburghuniversity , which was truly an endeavor for a years time. #edinbrughgrad
I’m so proud to say I graduated with merit and created a dissertation I was/am passionate about. I hope to continue my research into heel spurs and their daily impact on living people and archaeological remains.

I’m also grateful to our “silent teachers,” the individuals’ whose skeletons were carefully studied to practice our skills. Our lessons aimed to teach us how to read bones the way one can the differences in flowers, at least once you become a “master” to recognize the subtleties. It takes time and passion, as well as respect and gentleness. This program also ignited a renewed passion for the ethics surrounding treatment of human remains.

Trust me when I say I could go on forever about the fantastic stories and lessons I learned the past year. But I’ll try to sum it up: this past year included the reflection of rain on purple thistles, the wailing of a thousand bagpipes, the burning peat aftertaste of scotch, the warmth of a pub filled with friends, and the smell of ancient books. I plan to share more on @anthro.ari once my life settles down a bit🥰🤍 #sláinte
