✨My Why Wednesday✨

Working in this field, whether as foster parents, social workers, or houseparents, we often hear “I could never do what you do.” And honestly, we all have days that we don’t think we can do it anymore, BUT we want to share why we keep showing up anyway!

Addi Kelsey is one of our social workers. She has a special connection to foster care because her parents are foster parents and she has had several foster siblings over the years! For Addi, so much of her “why” comes back to relationships. While providing social services to families are important, relationships are even more so and relationships matter!

Addi has a big heart for teens in foster care. She has seen the way they are moved from place to place - often more times than they can count. Addi wants to provide predictability, consistency, and stability because every one of our kids deserves it!

Above it all, Addi, like many of us, is motivated by her faith in Jesus! She says, “My faith calls me to serve and advocate for the vulnerable and mistreated.” This is why Addi keeps showing up on the good days and the hard days!

Makin Musin 48!! The one where we fight the kraken🌊🐙 Being apart of making music was an experience I’ll never forget. Thank you to our wonderful directors who made this amazing show and letting me be apart of it. All the friendships and memories made because of it will stay with me forever. I’m so thankful to be apart of such an amazing club. I love Chi Beta Chi!💜💛

i got to spend some time with some special people in what is now a special place in my heart, to fellowship and to serve. i’m very thankful for the chance to do it. i loved cusco, i loved the people at the @iglesiadecristo_ayllu church, and i loved the friends i got to go with. it’s an experience i’ll never forget! truly, what a mighty God we serve.
