Photographers spend years learning light just for AI to give everyone the same face

Headshots for me are so much more than a ‘quick image’.

I get to know my clients. It feels personal and that’s what gets good studio results and brings out the energy in my photographs.

AI has 100% changed how people value photography. I guess if ChatGPT can do it in seconds, so can I? This ‘instant photography’ is of course is not new as we have been holding a pocket camera in the form of a smart phone with us for many years now and somewhere along the way, the art of photography started to feel immediate and disposable.

There is so much power in capturing someone under studio lighting. You see yourself the way other people see you. It’s flattering, honest, and a record of a specific moment in time.

My process has never been about taking a quick photo.

It’s the conversations before the shoot, coffees, mood boards, references, understanding what you want from the experience, and making sure that translates into the final images.

It’s also over ten years of building a craft - studio training, editing, learning lighting, refining technique, and continuing to improve every single year (yes my images will get even better).

So while a session might only take an hour or two of your time, it’s backed by a decade of work behind the camera.

If you like this way of working please reach out ❤️ x

Studio #BTS 📸

I’ve done some incredible work with the amazing @amiqueandthextc this year! Looking back through my camera roll I think most of my colourful set ups have been done with you ❤️ Check out his incredible music if you haven’t already and some more work coming from us in March 👀

Might not have been this year but end of last year working with @addressproperties was such a lovely time. A great team really makes the office and was clear to see this is why they thrive 🥰

Have worked with many more incredible people but forgetting to get BTS on every shoot 😂

Big thanks you to John at @librestudioliverpool for always supporting the work I do and for going with my mad ideas in the studio #liverpoolartist #liverpoolphotographer
