• The Thinnest Space •
Lots of us say that camp exists for us in the thin space where heaven and earth meet. This weekend, the Lord gave me a glimpse of the very thinnest space I’ve ever experienced!

I got the chance to walk through camp yesterday while pushing my boys in a stroller. It’s a simple thing, but it’s something I prayed for more than anything else in my life. I walked past spot after spot that I prayed—each one was a little reminder that God heard every single cry of my heart! Spending a weekend here was a gift in every way!

But, the thinnest space became so clear last night. We sat with work crew after a long day and I watched these sweet students love on our boys! They cheered Hank on while he halfway crawled his way around the room. They held Clark while he slept. They loved my boys like we’ve gotten the chance to love them over the years.

I found myself wanting to take pictures of it all, but instead I just sat & took it all in. I saw the community the gospel builds in a way I’d never quite felt before, & I’m still humbled!

I realized even more deeply that it is a wild gift to raise our boys this way. They get to grow up in this world full of unique thin spaces:

They get to exist in places where the gospel is proclaimed & lived out.

They get to be loved by adults & students whose lives have been changed by Jesus.

They get to watch people sacrifice their time, energy & resources to wash dishes & set tables for others.

They get to watch their dad give his life away in ministry every day in ways that very few others will ever see.

Someday, I’ll walk around Windy Gap with them again & show them each place that I prayed for them. Now, I pray that they get to know & love the same God who met me in the thinnest space!
