Love Letter to Oakland #4 is a collaboration between the students at Oakland Tech and the Hungry Ghost mural team. Last spring we held mural workshops with the students and had the student body vote on which alumni they would like to see featured in the mural. The mural celebrates a small number of the many decorated alumni that have attended Tech over the decades.

We couldn’t include everyone, and we hope to return someday to continue shining a light on the legacy of many incredible students from Oakland Tech.

Thank you to Principal Price and the art teacher Ms. Trockle for facilitating the mural process. And thank you to all of the students who helped design and paint the mural with us. It was an honor to work with you.

This project was funded by a grant from the California Arts Council

Artists: @panchopescador @joevicyeban @hungryghoststudio

Featuring in order: Frank Oz, the Pointer Sister, @akintundeahmad , @head8cke , @alexisgrayl , @beastmode , @iam.jhaii5 , @ahmed_dubs , and Huey P. Newton

Building Ade Dehye means staying committed to sustainable and ethical production as costs rise and margins tighten. It’s especially frustrating when sustainability marketing gets more attention than the work behind it.

H&M agreed to revise or remove sustainability claims following a regulator’s investigation. And Everlane, which built its identity around ethical production and transparency, announced a deal to be acquired by Shein at a reported $100 million valuation.
Everlane says its sustainability commitments will remain. Still, that pairing raises questions for me about what brands prioritize when business pressures grow.

At Ade Dehye, we want you to see our work. These photos follow the journey from our team in rural Ghana weaving fabrics to the finished garments. Behind every piece are people, skill, and time.

Oakland, come experience that work this Saturday. Shop the collection, ask about our fabrics and production practices, and support a local business.

Spring 26’ is Live!
Between work, entrepreneurship and business school at @berkeleyhaas , my time has been more and more constricted, but I’m happy to keep the journey going with @adedehye
Spring 26’ has been all about getting back to the basics, and the colors reflected that (earth, trees, ocean, stone)
Always a hit when I get to work with @darrinbaldridge and @lesliejsmith_ !
