Thank you to everyone who came to @split_level_fair I had a blast showing the work of @jjjjeeerremy and @maxrazdow alongside @__the__sphinx__ @adelaidekari • I love collaborating with Kari and Max and admire their consistent dedication to showing and supporting artists. It was great to add the art fair curatorial hat back into my conceptual coat closet since organizing a booth at Nada NY in 2022. I love being a multi-hyphenate. 💙

As always thank you to Kari for being so wonderful and getting the best photos and @jaquelinecedar for doing such a great job on Split Level in its 2nd year! 🫶🏼📸

Repost from @dimin.nyc

DIMIN is proud to host the third and final iteration of “The Swan’s Script” curated by @__the__sphinx__, featuring work by Rachel Cope, Sarah Alice Moran, Max Razdow, and Dana Sherwood.

The Swan’s Script draws inspiration from Hilma af Klint’s The Swan series (1914–1915). The swans in af Klint’s paintings present a play of opposites, quadrants, and alchemical forms; similarly, M.C. Escher’s Swan (1956) wood engravings evoke computational formats and patterning through swan shadows, jagged plumage, and infinity loops. The Swan’s Script aims to capture a language that opens itself to phenomenological potentials, interweaving birds and abstraction, creating persuasions that curve and fold as poetics.

What a summer it has been, and I guess it’s not done yet. Last night we opened the third and final act of the Swans Script @dimin.nyc with @rachel__cope @city_sarah @maxrazdow alongside Blizzard at the gallery.
.
Thank you everyone everyone everyone who worked to make this incredible traveling swan show happen!!! @__the__sphinx__ @adelaidekari @basilicahudson @xmadmx @rasputinaofficial @phantasmaphile @jeanetteandrewsmagic @gearycontemporary @dimin.nyc @ph0ebe.art @markdionstudio @fairer_fields and all our friends who came out to support us!
.
It was fun and inspiring, magical how it all came together so beautifully. And what an intense six weeks it has been. Mark was hospitalized with a respiratory infection for 4 days in France, which was so scary! He’s better now 🙏 Fairfield decided to skip camp for half of the summer making it really really hard to work. It’s really something being an artist mom. When structures like school and camp aren’t there it’s almost impossible to focus on work and be the good mom I want to be. It’s a constant battle with screens vying for children’s attention, especially when I’m already exhausted from a very full life.
.
I’m grateful we survived and even thrived, made new friends, we even got a puppy to top it all off!
.
Thank you for this crazy life! My cup is full and I’m off to celebrate with dear old friends in California before our annual family beach trip to Fairhaven.

Opening this Wednesday from 5-7PM. The Swan’s Script II, an itinerant exhibition curated by @__the__sphinx__ @adelaidekari features work by Dana Sherwood, Max Razdow, and Rachel Cope. Join us for the opening of this lovely 4 day exhibition featuring a performance by Melora Creager of @rasputina_official at 6PM.

The exhibition imagines the swan less as an emblem than as a switching device, allowing form to pivot, digress and multiply with devotion — from figuration to abstraction — through an array of narrative and plotless utterances. The symbol of the swan disguising, doubling, and mirroring its own image may be framed as an euphemism of transformation in an otherwise continuous being, as portrayed between Acts II and III of Swan Lake, when the principal dancer changes costume to transfigure from Odette to Odile.

The Swan Script II is on view through Saturday, July 18.

Back home, bathing in the Summer Solstice and Strawberry Full Moon afterglow … reintegrating post memoir deep seeded exchange, while birthing the design / installation plan for my 90s photography exhibit coming up at @agotoronto come September in Toronto… (Montréal art school student dream come true!)

Meanwhile back home, @basilicahudson which was inspired by a dream I about temple of three-dimensional sound, is weaving its magic with independent day Farm & Flea weekend, in collaboration with @likemindedobjects brings together more than 100 local independent makers, farmers, and artists collectors.

No barcodes and Delicious abundance of the Hudson Valley … join us!
Sat / Sun July 4&5, 10-5pm

In the spirited white cube Basilica Back Gallery, exhibited through the weekend is The Swan Script curated by @__the__sphinx__ - last week’s opening ceremony, part of @upstateartweekend was divine incarnate. Circles, Readings, Magic and Music - the paintings and sculptures are still up and must see if you are in Hudson, NY this hot weekend…

When we founded basilica Hudson in 2010, if we’d been asked what we hoped to fill it with, I most certainly would’ve said “witches, illusionists, dreamers, one-of-a-kind makers and cellists” … and so we have fulfilled that wish, with all kindred spirits... night sky MAdM captured by @heathendude.

Long hot days welcome you to stay strange but don’t be a stranger…

Much on the archives horizon…including substack soliloquies…
& more to share connect with YOU.
