Dear assumption softball,

I honestly can’t believe it’s over. It’s still surreal to me that something that has been such a constant in my life over the past 4 years is no longer a part of my life. You’ve given me so much. So many people, experiences, and memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. There have certainly been moments where it got hard, but there are so many more that brought me immense joy.

There are so many coaches, teammates, and supporters who have pushed both the team and I to reach new heights during my time here; no matter how many doubted us, they kept believing. Because of that, we were able to deliver new records no one ever thought we would be able to, including a state championship. I want to say thank you to everyone who supported me in my journey as well as Assumption as a whole. This season may not have ended how we wanted it to, but the hard work put into it and seasons past will never go unnoticed.

Most of all, I’m so proud to be able to say that I wore assumption on my chest and #30 on my back. Thank you high school softball for giving me my best friends and an experience of a lifetime. I’ll always be a rocket.

Dear Highschool softball,

As my high school softball career comes to an end, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey that brought me here. For the past six years, softball has been a huge part of my life. I spent my first two years playing at a different school during middle school before transferring and finishing the last four years at a new school that quickly became home. Throughout these years, the game has taught me lessons that extend far beyond the field. There were moments of excitement and success, as well as challenges, setbacks, and tough losses that tested my strength and determination. Every early morning practice, long bus ride, extra workout, and game under the lights helped shape me into the person and player I am today.

I am so grateful for every coach who pushed me to be better, every teammate who became family, and every friend who supported me through the highs and lows. My family has been my biggest support system, cheering me on from the stands, celebrating my victories, and helping me through disappointments. One of the greatest blessings softball gave me was introducing me to my best friend. What started as being teammates grew into a friendship that I know will last long after our playing days are over. Together, we created memories, shared countless laughs, and supported each other through every season.

As this chapter closes, I am proud to say that all of the hard work, sacrifices, and dedication have led me to the next level. Having the opportunity to continue my softball career in college is a dream come true and something younger me always hoped for. While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to high school softball, I will forever cherish the memories, relationships, and lessons this game has given me. Softball has shaped my character, strengthened my faith in myself, and provided me with lifelong friendships. No matter where the next chapter takes me, I will always be thankful for the six unforgettable years that made me who I am today.

Let’s go!
