eight months ago, i was horrified of college. i had nobody to call home, i had no place to call home, and i had no activities to call home. present day, i am obsessed with college. not only do i have people to call home, a place to call home, and things i do that make me feel home, but all of these things are real. i can confidently say that these past eight months have been some of the best of my entire life. from growth academically to growth spiritually to growth emotionally, i can see myself forging a beautiful, unique path and quickly blooming into the woman i aspire to be one day. i am eternally grateful for the individuals and the experiences i have had the pleasure of meeting, knowing, and living—i have you all to thank for that. every day brings its new challenge, and every corner you round has an unexpected result, but i’ve learned this year to look my fear in the eyes and give it an enormous “who cares?” although next year brings the same unexpected results and new challenges, i’ve learned enough this year to tell me that i am willing and able to get through anything that may be thrown my way. lots of love to my first (intensely) real year as an adult, and i’m proud of you, jovs. <3
