"The biggest thing for me was cultural agility, working with Chinese people, Malaysians, Canadians, Americans, and having to adapt your working style accordingly."

Meet Adele, a Computer Science master's student from the University of Birmingham. And Kiera @iluvme.k a Business student from Penn State Abington. Both interning in Shanghai with CRCC Asia this summer.

Watch as they share what brought them to Shanghai, what they picked up beyond the office, and how the experience helped them figure out exactly where they want to go next.

As a treat for myself, I went on three-city train ride from Manchester to Leeds, then Sheffield and back. It was great fun to ride the trains, look out at the views and the stations.

Wakefield Kirkgate reminded me of a musician I highly respect - Bill Nelson, founder of Bebop Deluxe - who is from Wakefield. I include a snippet of the track ‘Tender is the Night’ from his 1982 album ‘Chimera.

In Sheffield, I visited the Builder’s Brew Café where you can build Lego models. I built the Parthenon in an hour!

I crammed the 10-hour trip into three minutes! I received an unused ticket from Sheffield to Manchester and decided to do a ‘three-city’ tour. The date was Friday 13th of March.

Between the café and the station in Sheffield, I took a break to visit my daughter Adele.

Here is another short ‘post card’ in my “Postcards from Journeys“ series, made initially as material for my language students. I went to Birmingham University to visit my daughter who is studying there and I was very impressed with the campus the magnificent clocktower, the impressive Aston Webb Building and the library. I even liked the Brutalist Muirhead Tower. I use the English and German versions with my students. All in all I was very impressed with the university of Birmingham campus. #Architecture.

A simple little montage of our trip to New York and New Haven in September. Excuse the handheld shakes. Finally figured out a way to make this video without my laptop dying🥳

Music is not my own, song is 'You Save Me' by Alicia Keys ft Snoh Aalegra (let's hope I don't get c0pyr1ght3d)
Disclaimer: this song is not about Adele or Thomas but I adore them both😂)

🌛WHAT WE’RE ABOUT🌜

Skating should be for everyone and we want to take away the fear and intimidation from outdoor skateparks by empowering women, girls, queer, trans and non binary people to shred together.

We’ve got just as much right to be there as anyone else - even if you can’t ‘do a kickflip’ ✊✊🏾✊🏼✊🏿
