Another chunky bass on the @biggmouthfishing BMF Ned! Natural colors have been the ticket.

Can’t beat the rush of having a big take on a finesse presentation. Little taps along the bottom and then the lines shoots sideways! Hookset and fish on.

My go-to finesse rod is my @stcroixrods 6,6 ML fast action Triumph. Sensitive enough to feel quick hits, but with enough backbone to wrangle big fish into shore.

Clearnose skates are the most common skate species in Delaware.

If you’re fishing cut bait or squid strips, you are almost certainly going to run into at least a few of these guys.

They get their name from the transparent skin around their nose and even though they don’t have barbs on their tails like true stingrays, they do have a row of sharp spikes along their back and tail.

Great fighters for their small size; they can bend a rod over real quick if you’re not paying attention.

This guy was the first of a few skates I landed on the trip!

Got em! This chunky pond largemouth inhaled a @zmanfishingproducts finesse TRD.

Knew it was a good fish right from the hook set. At 19.5 in it’s just about the biggest bass I’ve seen at this pond.

Been busy with the move, but hoping to get a little fishing in soon…. 🙏

Got out and got on em the other day! Only had a few hours to fish after the rain had past, but @kevvin978 and I made the most of it!

Landed 11 bass across 2 ponds in just over 2 hours. Can’t complain about a day like that! Tapping the Ned rig along the bottom or paddle tails along the weeds or breaks were the ticket.

Spent the afternoon chasing bass and working on my tan lines. It was a hot one out there! Highest temp I saw was 97 feels like 107. 🥵

Fishing was a bit of a grind. Storms yesterday churned up the water and the pressure has been all over the place. Managed two bass and missed two more. When I finished off my 1.5 liter water bottle I knew it was time to call it a day.

Hydrate or die! 💧

One of my favorite roughfish to target on the river are freshwater drum a.k.a sheepshead.

These fish are hard fighting and blast to land on a walleye rod. A lot of anglers see them as a trash fish and I’ve even talked to a few who claim to “kill every one they catch.”

The species is considered native in most of southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, but introduction by humans is most likely how it found its way farther North.

Love em or hate em, the drum are here to stay. 🥁

It’s Musky Monday! Here’s the big fish from the weekend’s trip.

This nice high 30s musky took a walleye minnow on a little floating jig right off the bottom of a rock pile.

Walleye fishing with a 10lb @yozuri_lures floro leader, but luckily the hook set got him right in the tip of his upper lip. No matter how he turned, it couldn’t bite the line. 🙌

Hooked on my @stcroixrods M action triumph, I was able to let him run a few times and eventually turn him towards the net. He tried to shake it right at shore, but I got the net under most of the body and in it went! One head shake in the net and the hook popped out.

A quick picture, a few minutes of reviving, and it shot away into the river. Not bad for the first fish of the day.

Warm temps means warm water, warm water means active fish!

I’ve seen a lot more bass being caught in my area this week. With high temps being 88, 85, 88, and 86 the small ponds are going to warm up fast!

Big fish are going to be moving around and hungry. Here’s to hoping I can get on a few this week. 🤞

The calm before the storm. ⛈

Was able to get out and find a few bass before the storms blew in on Saturday.

Went from calm and cloudy to windy and downpour in the time it took me to get back to the truck.

Gotta love spring fishing!

You, my brown-eyed girl. 👁

Snuck out for an hour and a half last evening and got a few at sunset. Got 3 on the Ned rig.

Nothing huge, but good to see more bass up and moving on the shallow flats. Even saw a few starting to hit at the surface.

Found a few nice ones today. Only caught two fish in three hours, but both fish were 3lbs. So quality over quantity!

This chunky bass hit a @biggmouthfishing craw rigged up on a @booyah_baits boo-jig. Black n blue jig with the craw in midnight leech was perfect for the stained water.

Bass are starting to move shallow so the fishing is only going to get better!
