Two exciting events next week: 11 alumni (including yrs truly) will read selections from Stan’s magnificent COLLECTED POEMS on Wed., Oct. 22 at 6pm + Michael Collier will deliver the 2025 Stanley Plumly lecture on Thurs., Oct. 23 at 3:30pm. Both events are in the Ulrich Recital Hall on the first floor of Tawes. Free & open to the public, as always. Book sales by @peoplesbooktakoma.

Stan & Michael taught us everything, co-founded @mfa_at_umd & co-directed it for years & years. They both served terms as Poet Laureate of Maryland. I’m so excited & honored to help celebrate their influence on generations of poets!

I'm honored to be part of these literary events this fall, in support of Stanley Plumly's beautiful Collected Poems (ed. David Baker and Michael Collier) and as part of Traci Brimhall's "Dream Walk" curation for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

I'd love to see you (virtually or in person)!

I'm including the text from my graphic below, along with the Zoom link for the Hudson Valley Writers Center reading.

I do think that life really is just about cooking & eating food with your dear friends. Insane collab with @myexactopposite (made the most scrumptious pistachio macarons seen here atop my chocolate olive oil cake) & @saleha.malik1 (made the main course, rice & daal & palak alu) AND @grosslog with the yummy stuffed poblano peppersssss. 💕💕💕
