DAY 3: MY FRIENDS 🥹❤️

Today, I choose to be grateful for my friends.

My days of not admitting that I’m a pioneer are over. 😂 But honestly, it’s so easy to forget that I’m human when I’m a leader in almost every space I find myself in.

The thing about these few days of gratitude is that I’m intentionally highlighting the parts of my life I would normally overthink because I’m not yet perfect in them.

And friendships are one of those areas.

Sometimes, life gets busy, and when I’m overwhelmed, my first instinct is to withdraw. I don’t want to talk to anyone, I avoid conversations, and I might leave WhatsApp messages unanswered for longer than I should. 🥲
At some point, maintaining friendships began to feel like another responsibility to manage. Letting people in felt like too much work. And as much as I love my friends (trust me, I do!), this habit of withdrawing started taking a toll on my relationships.
I almost lost a friendship earlier this year, and I had to do some damage control. 😂

So today, I choose to be grateful for my friends.
I’m grateful for every person God has placed in my life to ground me, to remind me that I’m human, and to keep me from getting so carried away by my responsibilities that I forget there’s a life outside them.
It’s funny how, in almost every space I find myself in, I somehow end up in a leadership position. And while I’m learning to embrace that part of my life, I’m also realising how intentional God has been about placing people around me who remind me that I don’t always have to be the one leading, teaching, organising, or pouring into others.

Sometimes, I get to just be Peace.

I get to learn, to be vulnerable, to be supported, to be corrected, to laugh, and to be loved.

And for someone who finds it difficult to let people in, that is no small gift.

God has placed people in my life who tend to my garden as I tend to theirs. People who remind me that I, too, need to be cared for.

For better judgement, I won’t mention names, and they are not all captured in this video (but I’m sure they know themselves)

the bus was empty.
for once, I didn’t have to share the window.

When I thought of a way to create with @adewalecoco and I saw this empty bus outside the stadium, i immediately thought about all the stops I’ve missed. the ones I should have taken, the ones I watched pass from the inside, and I thought, that would be a great direction to take with the images I will have from this bus.

So, maybe missing them was the route. maybe I’m still finding my way, just slower now, and more deliberate.

We had a different plan for this shoot, the idea was to use the Lagos Fanti Carnival, as a backdrop to our story, but when I and @adewalecoco got to the venue and saw that we were living in fairy land with our ideas, we had to improvise, what was meant to be a simple shoot, turned into a bonding session where we went on about work, faith and challenges, we found this spot on our way home and decided to do something with it.

APPRECIATION POST?

Meet the people on my set.

In another life, I’d rather do everything on my own.
But lately, I’m learning something —
you really can’t build anything meaningful alone.
You need people.
And these people showed up for me.
From ideation to execution… mhen, they carried this vision like it was theirs. Even though the idea came late

Late nights, Early mornings, Petty spending etc
I honestly wish I could dedicate a whole video to each of them.
Grateful for everyone who worked behind the curtains too.
Special thanks to @purpleeaceevents — this idea might have been flushed if I never met you.

The people around me are constant reminders that God is with me.
And once again, He proved it. 🤍

STUNNING REVELATION! I styled the gorgeous Grace in a custom, layered Aso-Oke masterpiece, paired with a dramatic draped red duchess satin top. Adding a touch of vintage glamour, my mum’s stunning church hat made a show-stopping appearance! Black gloves, statement accessories, and a whole lot of sass completed this jaw-dropping look!

Deep sigh!!! The 1st of May was a spectacular day, I had one of the best privilege to be at the @growwithrenny conference. The event was a “spot on”, they touched and addressed every area that needed to be addressed, finance, friendship, business, mental health and all sorts. God bless @morenikemolehin for hosting myself and so many people at that wonderful conference.
