Congrats to Ange-Frédéric Koffi, 2026 Art Critic / Curator Laureate.

2026 Laureate presentation:
Ange-Frédéric Koffi is a curator, art critic, and researcher. A graduate of Sorbonne – Paris 1 University (FR), Haute école des arts du Rhin (FR), and École cantonale d’art de Lausanne (CH), he also holds a
degree in History from UWC University of the Western Cape (ZA). Member of ILLE laboratory, University of Haute-Alsace (FR), his curatorial practice examines image regimes and historical narratives in postcolonial contexts, considering the exhibition as a critical space. He has curated ‘FANON antinomies’, Abidjan (CI) in 2025, ‘Mécanique poétique – Adama Sylla’ in 2023-26, and ‘I Was Here - I Saw Here’, Mulhouse (FR) in 2020. His research has been published in Médiévales and Kronos, and presented at international conferences. Foam Talent Award Winner 2022, Zeitz MOCAA Fellow, he has benefited from residencies at Black Rock Dakar (SN) and at the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation (IE).

Vidéaste et plasticienne, Bertille Bak porte en étendard aussi bien son héritage familial que la singularité de cultures populaires, dans une oeuvre oscillant entre le documentaire sociologique et la fiction poétique.

Pour l’exposition du prix Marcel Duchamp, Bertille Bak propose une installation vidéo pour raconter l’absurdité écologique que constitue l’industrie des fleurs, mais surtout les inégalité Nord/Sud qui sous-tendent ce commerce.

Video maker and visual artist Bertille Bak brandishes both her family heritage and the singularity of popular strains of culture, in a body of work that veers between sociological documentary and poetic fiction.

For the Marcel Duchamp Prize exhibition, Bertille Bak has produced a video installation to recount the ecological absurdity of the flower industry, and most importantly, the North/South inequality underlying this business.

Pourquoi le droit fondamental à la mobilité a-t-il été érigé en privilège ? 🌍✈️

Connue principalement pour sa pratique filmique et photographique, Bouchra Khalili fait partie des quatre finalistes du prix Marcel Duchamp. Depuis une quinzaine d’années, l’œuvre de l’artiste franco-marocaine se concentre sur l’expérience du déracinement des populations immigrées et la transmission orale des récits, comme outil de résistance.

De nouveau, l’idée de constellation guide son projet pour le Prix, réunissant vidéos, affiches et photographies imprimées autour d’un film inédit.

Why was the fundamental right to mobility turned into a privilege? 🌍✈️

Predominantly known for her video art and photography, Bouchra Khalili is one of the four finalists of this year’s Prix Marcel Duchamp. For over a decade, the work of the French-Moroccan artist has focused on the immigrant experience of being separated from their one’s home country to oral storytelling as a tool of resistance.

The image of a constellation is, once again, guiding her project for the Marcel Duchamp Prize, which brings together videos, posters, and photographic prints.
