Proud to share that HWS has been ranked #2 in the nation for small colleges and universities producing Peace Corps volunteers! More than 250 HWS alumni have served communities around the world - making a difference and bringing their talents and commitment to service. Having served as the 14th Director of the Peace Corps, I’ve been moved to see so many HWS graduates pursue this important work. On campus, we are fortunate to have many faculty and staff colleagues who served as Peace Corps volunteers including Professor Diana Baker (Morocco), Professor Chris Annear (Zambia), Shanelle France ’11 (Lesotho) and Professor Richard Salter ’86 (Eastern Caribbean, Dominica).

I didn’t expect this place to become a home to me… but then I met all of you!!

I walked into HWS carrying my life in two bags… unsure, hopeful, and holding more questions than answers. Now I leave with a heart that’s so SO full! Thank you for making these years unforgettable.

I will always carry a piece of this home with me, in all of you.

Wherever life takes us next, I hope you all know how lucky I feel and how proud I am to have walked this chapter with you🫶🏾

kwa heri / oriti pre-service training!! ❤️ so incredibly thankful for my forever family (my host family) for teaching me everything I know about living in Kenya like cooking ugali and how to do my laundry I truly can never repay you for your kindness, all the peace corps staff, and my family and friends back home for the constant support 🙃 ps missing dago days and bhajia 🥹
