For the longest I’ve minimized my accomplishments because I figured I was behind or everyone could do what I do. Up until I realized that no one is Masu, but me. My educational journey has been a crazy one. Little do people know, I never wanted to be a painter or an artist. I always wanted to be an animator and involved in post-production in some way. Watching my papa excel in the film industry made me want to do the same. But as a Black woman in a male dominated field, I often felt like I didn’t belong in those spaces. After doing what everyone else wanted me to do for so long, I’m finally following my own path. Now, I’m one degree hotter (graduated with honors in digital media), with a full ride to UCLA’s film school. A school with an acceptance rate of 2%. I never would’ve thought my journey would get me here, but God is always right on time. I appreciate those that have helped me on this journey and I hope you guys are ready to go on this new adventure with me. When you see me UCLA and I deserve to be in every room I step foot in.🧸💙💛🎬
