I, along with her doctors made the decision to spay her since she also was having false pregnancies and the hormones fluctuations not the best for her meningoencephalitis of unknown origin (MUO) and I was hoping this would help her stabilize. Unfortunately she aspirated during the surgery and developed aspiration pneumonia and passed away. I know that the staff at Va Tech did everything they could to save her. My heart is shattered - she was with me for 24 months and two weeks — her story shouldn’t be over. Everyone she met fell in love with her. She came into our lives like a wrecking ball (in a good way) and loved Hazel and Agnes to death…Hazel and Agnes have no idea what’s going on … the house is too quiet and I miss my shadow. I am not sure I can survive this loss…. The only thing that brings me some sort of comfort is that she is no longer suffering with her MUO…. I know that Gertie, Lucy, Honey and Bubba have welcomed her and will show her the ropes and I cannot wait for her to greet me (like she did every time I came home from anywhere) when it’s my time. Oh Beezie, you took my heart with you this morning - I miss you so much it hurts I am so sorry….. 💔
