‘Gaïa Genesis’… Inspired by Gaïa, the Greek goddess of the Earth. Gaïa, is a personification of Earth, a primordial deity, and it’s regarded as one of the most powerful in Greek mythology.

Couture SS24, is inspired by the actual shape of Mother Earth during the day and night, which began when Moh Hamed, the creative director, was always drawn to the shape of the globe, its patterns and colors, which he thinks are perfect!

The photographs were acquired from NASA, slightly edited, and then digitally customised for the textiles as the Maison’s fabrics.

‘Gaïa Genesis’ required 5 months of savoir faire and detailed work in the atelier to translate the Earth shape discretely into the looks, where fabrics were combined and embroideries were delicately implanted into tulle and silk.

Couture SS24 comprises of 29 looks. As in 25 Looks for Women, this couture collection features long flowy gowns, jumpsuits, mini dresses with boots, and 4 ‘Moh pour Homme’ looks. This is the first time Moh Hamed has included men’s looks in his collection, and it begins the voyage of ‘Moh pour Homme’ in an edgy and dashing way. The colour palette alternates between shades of blue, green, offwhite, gold, and black, representing Earth colours during the day and night.

From fully embedded corset dresses to silk ombré flowy gowns, ‘Gaïa Genesis’ exudes charm and boldness while flawlessly expressing Mother Earth’s hues and colours. From sparkling dresses to hand-embroidered boots with sequins, beads, fringes, and Swarovski, ‘Gaïa Genesis’ represents a new spirit of Couture that combines Moh Hamed’s codes.

As always, the corset was the focal point of the collection, but this time it was moulded and finely constructed between bodices for gowns and as a removable element for other outfits.
