MARTHA #A2816515 just 11 months old, and already terrified of the world.

This beautiful gray-and-white Pit Bull mix arrived as a stray, and the shelter environment is overwhelming for her.

Martha is incredibly shy and fearful, but underneath all that fear is the gentlest, sweetest little girl. ❤️

She may need to be carried because she’s too scared to walk, yet she allows you to hold her, bathe her, and comfort her without showing any aggression.

Martha doesn’t need to be fixed. She needs to feel safe. 🥹

Please give this sweet puppy a chance to discover what love, patience, and a real home feel like.

the reality behind shelter dogs..

have you ever wondered what it's like being a dog living in the shelter? the truth and the reality.. especially at a county shelter that is highly over capacity with no space..

our wonderful good ( boys and girls) waiting for adoption have to spend 23.5 hours inside a shelter kennel..

it can get loud, stressful, cold, scary.. especially for those timid pups🥹 a shelter is no place for a dog to live💔 especially those amazing dogs who have to wait years to be seen and given a chance..

many dogs are judged by potential adopters by the presentation inside the kennel.. barking, jumping, pacing in circles.. but what they don't know is once we leash them and bring them outside to the fresh air and quieter environment- they all change and have a whole different other personality..

like good boy (A2678503- Terrance) and good boy (A2288686- Romeo) who our 2 of many long residents.

we are over capacity! we need your help at our main and over flow facility💔 we are calling all great candidates who can foster or adopt.. to please open up your home to these amazing dogs.

🚨 the dog in this video is adopted and has a loving home and thriving- she was used as a presentation for this video. ✨ thank you volunteer gaby who runs ( @305adoptpups ) for this video!

When I met Linna #A2813621, I could tell her little body went through a LOT recently 😣Then I learned her story and it made me so sad for her. Linna was found as a stray on August 29th. She’s 9 YEARS OLD A SENIOR😭❤️, and according to her vet exam, her mammary glands were fully engorged and full of milk. The vet noted that she may have recently had puppies 💔 We don’t know what happened to her babies and we don’t know how this sweet senior ended up alone on the streets, or what she’s been through. Her vet exam also revealed: Skin masses on her right rear leg, some about the size of a dollar coin. Entropion in both eyes, meaning her eyelids roll inward and can cause irritation and damage. Mild dental disease. Small growths on her mammary glands that need veterinary attention.

And the worst of it all is that she has to go through all of this alone in a cold, hard shelter kennel. Linna could really benefit from a foster or adopter willing to give her a chance.

Leo #A2114901 has waited in this same spot for 386 days 💔💔💔 He is about 7 years old and listed as a Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix. Leo is almost always carrying a toy around for emotional support, and he LOVES to play. He’s good on the leash, knows his basic commands like sit and paw, and is an overall gentleman. He’s participated in dog playgroups and has a gentle to playful play style. We don’t know Leo’s life before the shelter, but we do know that his time here has been incredibly difficult. He’s suffered through terrible allergies, hives, eye issues, upper respiratory infections, and even bloody diarrhea. This poor boy just hasn’t had it easy. 💔

How much longer does he have to wait? Please DM @pawssion4dogs if you’d like to learn more about this angel.

In loving memory of Sunna 💖 a girl with a happy, tender heart and a loving soul.
(#a2666835 )

It has taken my friends and me hours to compose ourselves after this outcome. We tried so hard. We hoped and did everything we could to find someone willing to see how special she was and arrive on time to give her a new life.

My heart goes out to her person, who, due to a medical emergency, had no option but to surrender her beloved pet, hoping she would find a new family and a safe haven. I hope she never sees this video. Sunna was failed by irresponsible adopters, and sadly, she didn’t make it out.

We love you, “Sunna girl,” or “Sunny love,” as I called you. I am so sorry. 💔

Fly high, Sunna. Run free, girl. 💖🌈

I am EXTREMELY heart broken today. Not just today, but everyday for dogs like SUNNA AKA NALA to me… that were failed by a system that is broken, people that don’t value animals, and a world that doesn’t deserve dogs. I took Nala out months ago before she was adopted, and I’d hope she was in a good place. After learning she was returned just recently. Despite being a good girl, and dog friendly I’m not sure what happened. But because of this she was subsequently euthanized by Miami Dade animal services. I understand the struggles of the over population crisis of animals here but the good ones are being failed too much lately. And I will forever fight for dogs like her. She was a PUPPY when she arrived at the shelter and in just a short 3 years she’s gone. RIP sweet girl, the world didn’t deserve you ! I’ll see you soon my girl. Keep that happy energy and smile I loved ! 🥰 🌈#nala #rip #rainbowbridge #sheltercrisis #happygirl

RIP SUNNA #a2666835 💔 I am SO SO SO sorry you were failed so many times by humans.

Formerly known as Nala at the Medley overflow shelter, Sunna was first surrendered by her owner in February 2025. She was adopted, surrendered again, adopted once more, and later found as a stray. After being involved in an altercation with another dog (at no fault of her own), and even though she did not hurt anyone, her life was placed at risk. She was euthanized October 20th,2026.

Sunna was beautiful inside and out. She was sooo sweet, affectionate, incredibly loving, and had the most beautiful smile. She wanted nothing more than to love and be loved! It’s such a shame this happened. Us volunteers who cared for Sunna and loved her are deeply deeply devastated by this.

Heartbreakingly, someone reached out last night hoping to adopt Sunna, but we learned this morning that she was already gone. It is a devastating reminder of how little time these shelter dogs may have.

There are nearly 700 dogs in the Miami Dade Animal shelter. That is far too many & there simply are not enough safe places for them to go. We urgently need adopters, fosters, volunteers and a community committed to helping these dogs. If you are considering fostering or adopting, please do not wait!! Reach out today. Share the dogs who need help. Their lives are on the line, and they need us now more than ever.

FLY HIGH, SWEET SUNNA. WE WILL LOVE AND REMEMBER YOU FOREVER 😭🩷🕊️

#A2709449 MULATA

her owner passed away💔 she's lost all she's ever loved and since then, she's lived at the shelter for over a year. such an amazing beautiful energetic pup living behind these kennel bars.

she's watched the shelter system change, dogs get adopted, dogs leave on foster, dogs getting rescued.. she's seen it all.

she's been In the same kennel since she arrived, it's basically become her home🥹

15 months living in doggie prison 😭 mulata deserves better, she deserves a home, a family, and endless love.

mulata loves going to the playyard to play fetch, she loves running around, doing tricks and getting in the water.. but why does no one love her enough to adopt or long term foster her? she's an amazing girl.

she walks well on the leash.. although she may pull at times on the start of her walk, after a few she settles nicely and easily.. please don't let her life go to waste.

choose, good girl mulata.

SUNNA was euthanized on 10/20 I’m so sorry, fly high sweet angel. 🚨🆘 Sunna #a2666835 DEADLINE TOMORROW 10/21. Her story cannot end like this. She’s been failed too many times already. She came in to shelter Feb 2025, adopted Aug 2025, surrendered for being “hyper” kid scared, adopted again December 2025 only to be found wandering streets of Miami as a stray in July of this year. SHE DESERVES BETTER.

She does well with dogs her size and she is super sweet with people. Just no cats or small dogs.
