A plain rounded form doesn’t give you much to work with. No edges, no details, no obvious place for the light to land.

@adrianamoram uses a technique she calls “the zebra,” layering six lights to create alternating bands of dark and bright reflection across the surface.

The result is a simple form with a lot more visual movement.

Watch the lighting build, one layer at a time.

After our jury member Adriana Mora selected FLOWERS 01 by Tyrone Williams and Kenta Cobayashi as her Golden Ticket for Issue No. 3, Adriana shared a set of questions with both artists. The questions move through collaboration, authorship, photographic archives, generative systems, editing, color, chance, and machine interpretation.

In this video, Tyrone answers from the continuity of his photographic practice, where AI becomes another way of extending an existing gaze. Kenta follows later in the video and answers from the friction between control and system, where authorship begins to blur and the image emerges through that uncertainty. Together, their responses reveal two distinct practices meeting through one shared project, not to dissolve into one style, but to open a third space between individual signature, shared language, and machine interpretation.

Thank you, Adriana, for your careful work on the jury, and thank you, Tyrone and Kenta, for sharing not only FLOWERS 01 with us, but also the thoughts and decisions behind it. We are proud to have included the work in Issue No. 3 as a printed image, and to have presented it at @load.gallery in Barcelona, where it took on another form through space and encounter.

While Issue No. 3 offers a glimpse into their practice, the project also exists in its full 64-page layout as a limited-edition artist book titled FLOWERS, published independently by Photobook Daydream Editions in 2026. For those who would like to spend more time with the work discover more @photobook_daydream_editions

We hope this beautiful work continues to find many people, in print, in space, and wherever it is encountered next.

Our jury member @adrianamoram has selected FLOWERS 01 by Tyrone Williams and Kenta Cobayashi as her Golden Ticket for Issue No. 3 of The AI Art Magazine.

FLOWERS emerges from a collaboration that extends both artists’ photographic practices into generative systems. Built from their own archives and shaped through Midjourney’s personalization features, the project explores how a shared visual language can develop without dissolving the distinct signatures each artist brings to the work. At what point does a collaboration become a third visual language, one that belongs fully to neither artist and can only emerge through their exchange?

In the text accompanying their submission, the artists write:

“FLOWERS emerged between control and unpredictability, intention and chance. It reflects a desire to explore where photography sits today and where it might be heading, blurring traditional boundaries while staying grounded in a strong, personal visual language.”

In her accompanying essay, Adriana writes:

„The machine doesn’t render flowers, it deconstructs them by dissolving botanical reality into pure chromatic energy. The objects surrender their identity so that color can speak uninterrupted.“

The flowers become the point at which color begins to detach itself from representation. Fragmentation breaks the botanical forms apart and redistributes them across the image, while saturation gives the colors an intensity that exceeds their descriptive role. Reflections interrupt the remaining outlines and carry fragments of color into adjacent areas. At certain points, the image appears material; elsewhere, the same colors seem to emit light. Distortion develops through this movement and gradually loosens the connection between the flowers and their recognizable form. What remains is a field of color, light, unstable form.

The video in this carousel shows FLOWERS at @load.gallery during Global Fusion Barcelona. Presented across the gallery’s screens, the work extended beyond the still image and unfolded throughout the exhibition space. What you see here is a short excerpt from the installation.

Congratulations to @tyswills and @kentacobayashi.

Commercial Confectionery is a photography and editorial project that reframes Mexican mass-market candy through the visual codes of luxury goods. Shot with the precision and seriousness typically reserved for objects of cultural prestige, applied deliberately to the riot of color, texture, and unapologetic character that defines Mexican confectionery. 🍭🍬 With @adrianamoram and @dmmmmmmmmmmmmmmml

Turns out, plastic can be really fantastic.

This piece, by @adrianamoram explores how light interacts with plastic...the way it passes through, catches edges, and reflects just enough to bring ordinary objects to life.

💡 Tip: When working with plastic materials, pay attention to how light travels through the object, not just across the surface. A little transparency and strong edge lighting can make simple shapes feel instantly more dimensional.
