Congratulations to recent CCS Photo Alum Adriana Sapia on their beautiful new work made as an Artist-in-Residence at @lamaisondebeaumont in Provence, France last month 🇫🇷

@adrianasapiaphotography ➡️ “A little piece of what I created in Provence, inspired by the quiet of the countryside, the softness of the light, and the feeling of slowing down enough to imagine what could be.

Photographed during my residency at La Maison de Beaumont. @lamaisondebeaumont

Congratulations to @adrianasapiaphotography who graduated from the CCS Photo program this week! 🎉 her senior thesis “The Living Myth,” seeks to reclaim women’s voices through depictions of Greek goddesses -

Follow her at @adrianasapiaphotography for more ➡️
“Fantasy began as an escape for me, a way of protecting the parts of myself that didn’t fit into
expected roles. Over time, it’s become a way to transform and reimagine my identity.

Greek mythology is one of the earliest forms of fantasy, an imaginative world where gods, symbols and magical forces are used to express human emotions and power. In this series, The Living Myth, the goddesses of Greek mythology serve as representations of the multifaceted
nature of feminine experience. These figures demonstrate strength and softness, chaos and
creation. They remind us that women are complex and constantly evolving. Through symbolic layering and carefully composed scenes, I create portals that blend reality with magical realism.

Women are still met with criticism, told they’re too emotional, too ambitious, too sexual or too strong. The fall of the goddess mirrors the cultural dismissal of women’s voices and autonomy.

This work is created in collaboration with women, including models, hairdressers and makeup artists, to celebrate the power that arises when we come together. Drawing inspiration from goddesses like Persephone, Demeter, and Aphrodite, each reflects a different stage of womanhood. Their stories reflect the experiences of the women I photograph, bridging myth and lived reality, and reclaiming the voices and power that history often tries to erase.”
