Five years ago, we moved to the Dominican Republic with a dream. 🇩🇴🌴

We bought a small piece of land, had a vision, and decided to go for it.

But the journey was anything but easy.

We lived in very difficult conditions, went back to Spain to work in hotels, built other businesses, found partners, made sacrifices, and faced countless moments when everything seemed impossible.

But we never stopped believing in what we were building together.

And today, here we are.

This is Casa Caona. A dream that once seemed so far away, now our reality.🙏🇩🇴

And the most beautiful part? Today, we’re not only living our dream in the Dominican Republic. We’re also helping others build theirs.

Dream big. Build together.

@angelinocvino ❤️ since the first moment I met you I knew you were going to impact my life in profound ways. Since 2021 you’ve been showing me the magic and beauty of the Dominican Republic. At first the impact was through retreats - as friends and business partners but as life shifted and things evolved, I’ve seen a whole different side of you, and this beautiful island I now call home, and I can’t thank you enough for encouraging me to move here.

I think the biggest impact you’ve had on me though, is expanding my friendship circle. I have met THE COOLEST and KINDEST humans ever since you’ve came into my life and we’ve had the most beautiful memories and experiences. I see the way people look at you, you are so genuine, caring and lovable, and I’ve truly never met anyone like you.

Thank you for encouraging everyone to be themselves. I know it’s a gift you have, seeing other people’s magic and helping them to express it fully. You’ve helped me grow and evolve in so many ways and have held space for all my big emotions and all of my energy (I am A LOT and so are YOU ❤️)

Thank you for encouraging my weirdness and my growth. I know you love me because you support what’s best for me and my journey even when that doesn’t always include you.

You are the epitome of a good time and a super chill guy all at once. Thank you for being part of and facilitating some of the best moments of my life these past few months. I love you, you fking weirdo, and I truly can’t wait to create more memories with you. Here are some of my favorites,

Casa Caona ya tiene su letrero. 🪧🌿

Así luce hoy por fuera y por dentro.

Casa Caona nació desde el amor, literalmente.

Vimos que en El Valle había gente que quería alojarse en plena naturaleza, despertar escuchando la jungla, rodearse de todo este verde… pero sin renunciar a nada. Y sin bichos 😂.
Una cama increíble, un sofá donde descansar de verdad, cocina totalmente equipada, aire acondicionado, todo bien cerrado, y unas vistas increíbles.

Este es el resultado. 🌴

Faces & Souls behind the greatest project I have ever been part of in my life. ✨

Bachata Retreat is so much more than an event, than a vacation, than a dance festival.…
For me it is a space where we can bring to life everything we truly believe in and stand for 🙌

The essence of the Dominican Republic.
The beauty of living in community.
The values that guide us.
The magic of simple human connection.
And the constant reminder that being truly present is not only the best way to experience the retreat… but life itself!!

I feel endlessly grateful for these two men who continue to accompany, support, and elevate the vision behind this incredible project we call @thebachataretreat .
