Not long till we will be on tour with "Situational Soundtrack"!! Glasgow folks come along to @thegladcafe if you can ⭐️ Wednesday 24th May - we will be joined by the wonderful David Swan & @brodie_jarvie To tell you a little bit about them: David Swan: A pianist/composer based between Cumbernauld and London. His love for a wide variety of music leads him to draw on jazz, classical, video game and film, musical theatre, Latin and Scottish traditional influences in his approach to writing and the keyboard. He was listed as one of @jazzwisemagazine “Ones to Watch” and has performed extensively with musicians across Europe and the UK, including as a member of Scottish group Causeway Trio (@bbcradio2 Young Folk Award finalists) and jazz/techno group Burnheart (one of The Guardian’s “New Artists for 2021”). He is currently developing several projects, including music for ballet and a self-produced record to be released later this summer, material from which is previewed this evening. Brodie Jarvie: As one of the freshest and most driving forces on the Scottish Jazz scene today, Brodie has worked with many esteemed musicians over the years including @tommy_smith_obe , Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, Ben van Gelder, Reinier Baas, Joris Roelofs and Texas to name a few and has performed at prestigious festivals and venues in India, The United States and Europe. Now back in Glasgow, Brodie fronts his own projects, @fmwft ’ and ‘Deceptive Lizard’. Huge thank you to @chambermusicscotland , @deniswickproducts and @helpmusicians for making this happen! 🪴Tiny Garden Concert🪴 Dopey Monkey & Adrian Ortman: Situational Soundtrack 28th May, 17:30, Elder Beer Garden 🌞 Join us in the Beer Garden for another edition of Tiny Garden Concert™️ As always, ticket link in bio (top of our website > Links) or Google/Eventbrite 👩‍💻 A bit about the band: “ Situational Soundtrack is an exploration into the sounds which form parts of daily life. Inspired by the likes of Brian Eno’s Music for Airports or Erik Satie’s Vexations, it considers what situational music is or could be as well as closer aspects of the everyday situations we often find ourselves in. The repetition of small routines that add up over the years, internal sporadic thoughts, feelings and monologues guiding us through the day and how our everyday consumption of music accompanies our activities and shapes our mood. Using these as a springboard for ideas, the trio have created a playlist of new music which they hope, in turn can be used as a soundtrack for someone else’s daily life. Dopey Monkey began in 2015 with Danielle Price and Martin Lee Thomson exploring all things tuba and euphonium in an informal concert for friends. They have since become known for their varied creative output, drawing together their backgrounds in jazz, folk, classical and experimental music, along with their curiosity for storytelling, cross arts and collaboration. The duo was later joined by a long-time friend, Swedish composer, producer and percussion powerhouse Adrian Ortman. Together, the unlikely trio walk between modern jazz, indie and experimental music making use of song and spoken word paired with catchy melodic lines and improvisation. They have created a series of projects including “Stills” written for YABAI-FEST 2021, “Now You Know” celebrating the texts of Brian Nisbet and “Slumberous” an exploration into dreams performed in Oslo in 2022. Situational Soundtrack was developed during their time as Britten Pears Young Artist Programme Ensemble in Residence 2022-23. “ Line-up: Danielle Price – Tuba Martin Lee Thomson – Euphonium Adrian Ortman – Drum Kit, Percussion

Vi arrar vårfest på Nomad den 13e maj! Jag spelar med band och det blir massa nya låtar! Själv tycker jag det låter som rock’n’roll men det är nog mer känslan jag vill åt.
